Top 3 Favorite Turn-based Strategy Games
Top 3 Favorite Turn-based Strategy Games
What are your favorite turn-based strategy games? I haven't played many, but the ones I have played, I love.
1. Advanced Wars: Dual Strike
2. X-Com: Enemy Unknown
3. Civilization Revolution
Honorable mentions: Shining Force, Fire Emblem Wii
Games I have not played include: Valkyria Chronicles, original X-Com, Advanced Wars 1 and 2. I did play AW: Days of Ruin, but didn't like it.
What are some other good ones?

Haven't played that many of them, I guess my top 2 might be
Valkyria Chronicles
Jeanne D'Arc
EDIT: I'll throw in Fire Emblem Awakening as my number 3.

Civilization III
Alpha Centauri
Civilization V: Brave New World
I don't play many turn based games but when I do I play them a lot. Also, Football Manager 2007-10 if that counts.

Top 3 is tough,as it's a genre I adore. I think it's safe to say that XCOM is a strong contendor for my #1 though.

Serious question: what is a good starting title to get into Japanese strategy RPG's?

Tactics Ogre scares me. I guess what I mean is, which is the most noob friendly of those games.
