PC Engine RGB question

Post by emurozii »

I have an RGB scart PC Engine. If I buy a Super CD ROM, will it work in RGB (i.e. is it like the Mega CD), or does it the Super CD interface have its own individual output?

If it does not work in RGB I will have to get a DUO, which is a shame because I've had a lot of technical issues with them.

The Interface Unit has its own AV out, so you would have to mod it for RGB as far as I understand. This is the setup that I have, although I haven't gone with an RGB mod on it yet.

I'd like to add that while the Duo and CD-ROM/Super CD-ROM units are all prone to certain problems, they are, generally, pretty repairable. It can get a little pricey in the long run, but these systems can be maintained in a way newer systems simply can't.
