3. Hilarious that he actually believes this. I told him that if the Neo Geo is 24-bit, then the Genesis MUST be, too.

I'll let the rest of the letter speak for itself.

But what is point number 2?!

He's commenting on the letters points.

Redifer wrote:Yup. The Neo Geo is a 16-bit system. The end (remember, the Genesis and even SNES also had a 16-bit main processor with a "companion" 8-bit processor). We all know nowadays that "bittage" doesn't really matter for shit. Only now are 64-bit computers starting to catch on, but SOMEHOW the wimpy 32-bit versions of Windows XP could emulate the powerful 64-bit N64 perfectly.

Joe, you know very well that the main processor in the Genesis is 32-bit. I've seen you even say this yourself in the past (although I don't think on Racketboy). :) Then again, so is the main processor in the Neo Geo. Neither were marketed as 32-bit, nor should they have been.

Just another example that talking about "bittage" is nothing more than for marketing purposes.

The Intellivision was 16-bit, after all.
Heck, if you want to take it further, the SNES was, in reality, an 8-bit system as much as the Genesis was a 16-bit system.

The Genesis' main CPU is 32-bit.
The SNES' data bus is 8-bit, effectively making it an 8-bit system.
The Turbografx-16's main CPU is 8-bit.

The entire 16-bit era was a fraud!!!!!!

Actually the inspiration comes mainly from Sega's SMS days. Sega o' America really cared about MEGA POWER as did the magazines. Twice the MEGA POWER! Hell yeah.

That snk Game Lord guy is an illiterate young fool! But at the same time fun. He appears to be someone you could have a videogame-related argument with that will last hours. Imagine him being a member of Racketboy and flaming all over everything!

Reminds me of the countless "Nintendo 64 is better than Playstation because..." letters to the editor or school reports I used to write back in middle school, the only difference is this guy is using official stationary and has an "awesome" title. Sounds like he definitely writes for his audience.

If you want to read more about the game lord, head on over to gamespot, they've got a nice writeup. Yes, he really was an actual employee of SNK :) The link takes you right to his section.

Also check out the rise and fall of SNK. You can find it on youtube.
