Trouble Burning Gamecube ISOs on a Mac

Post by racketboy »

So I've had a modded Gamecube for quite some time and was looking to finally get around to burning an actual game on a DVD.
I picked up a couple few ISOs from Archive.org, but I can't seem to get them to be recognized as valid.

I did some research and Disk Utility is supposed to handle this easily, but can't seem to get it to load any of them.
I also have Toast Titanium and it gives me an error of "could not detect format" and then one about not being able to burn the format to a DVD.

Any ideas of things to try?

Are they .gcm images? Try changing the extension to .iso and see if that works.

I just grabbed an ISO from the Redump USA set on Archive.org and it loaded fine in ImgBurn. I burned it to a mini DVD and it booted fine on my chipped Gamecube. Your problem is either the image or the software. Search for "gamecubeusaredump" on Archive.org and see if those work. If not, then trying using different burning software.

Looks like the same exact result.
You mention ImgBurn, but isn't that Windows only?

Yes, ImgBurn is Windows only. Although it works just fine on Linux with WINE.

I've never been a Mac user. Are there no alternatives to Toast?
