Has anyone heard of these guys? I just found out about them myself. I'd really love to grab that MK cab, but the availability doesn't seem good.

Here's a video from RGT 85 that reviews the MK cab, but you catch a glimpse of some of the others as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJ5THCFJOHM

Check your local Wal-Marts. They carry them. I haven't seen an MK cab in person yet but I think it just recently came out.

The Street Fighter cab is popular among modders. There are lots of tutorials out there for putting a RetroPie or Pandora's Box in it.

Yup. If Walmart has it, it'll likely be back in the electronics section somewhere. They also usually carry the extra stand that'll bump the mini cab up closer to full height. I haven't seen any of the ones in the upper picture in the stores yet, but it may just be a matter of time.

The MK cab isn't even on the Wal Mart website though. Nor Best Buy, Target, GameStop, or P.C. Richard and Son (those are all the stores from the Acarde1UP website that are local to me). Is it some kind of secret stock item?

Google is better than Wal-Mart's search feature.

Also I checked local Wal-Mart inventory with Brickseek and I'm not seeing any of the new cabs yet. EDIT: followed my own advice and found it on Brickseek via Google. https://brickseek.com/walmart-inventory ... =562017574

My Wal-Mart is full of these. My daughters specifically request trips to the store to play the display model:

At $300 they're too pricey. If I ever see one on clearance I'll grab it.

I picked up a clearanced Street Fighter one last year for $199 at a media store. I modded it - controls and buttons. I may hack it to run more games.

The LCD screen and emulation is decent but not perfect. Good enough unless you are a purest.

Wave 2 - MK, golden tee, etc are due out later this year. I don't think they've shipped yet.

My kids love it. They can sit / stand as opposed to climbing up big bar stools for the full size cabs.

If you can find one on the cheap I'd grab it. $300 was too much for me too - I just got lucky one day.

Also - there have been issues with the original run of spinners and rollers. Not sure if that's been fixed or not.

Yeah, I wouldn't pay $300 for one either, but for $200 I'd definitely consider it. I think Walmart was selling them for about $250 around Christmas time, but even that's a bit too much for me.

I don't think $300 is that bad, all things considered. If you wanted to make a Mortal Kombat II cabinet, you can get reproduction side art, CPO, and marquee. But the cost of the repro art plus the lumber, hardware, joystick and triggers, et cetera, and a Raspberry Pi or a PC and a monitor... $300 isn't too bad.

Somebody just posted four of the 2018 cabs for $600 on my local Facebook yardsale group. That is pretty tempting. Pretty sure the wife would veto it though.
