Guide to Re-Releases with DLC for X360, PS3, & WiiU *UPDATE*

by casterofdreams Fri Oct 18, 2013 11:03 pm

*UPDATE*: removed pictures and added a bunch of games! Made the guide cleaner and alphabetical order.

Hello all,

I feel it is now time for me to contribute to this site by putting together a useful guide for the future. As this generation comes to a close and my experience in gaming and collecting increases, I believe I should do something helpful with the knowledge that I’ve obtained and make a nice list to help others with their gaming and collecting.

Objective: To create and maintain a list of re-released games that include DLC or other digital items that did not come with the vanilla release or that cost extra otherwise. This guide was created with the gamer in mind who would like to share the disc containing DLC or if there is an internet issue in the future (services shutdown or other issue) and would like to play said content.

Criteria: A re-release that includes a separate disc other than the “Play” disc; A physical release of a piece of DLC that does not require the original game; An all inclusive re-release that comes all on one or so discs, no install needed. I have also included games that were exclusively digital and have made it into the physical space. Please note: I have not included any re-releases that involves entering a code. The reason why is that codes either expire or the service to download the DLC is taken offline.

MASSIVE OVERHAUL ON 7/24/2016. STILL WORK IN PROGRESS.

Xbox 360:

This is where my expertise lies as I have all of the games listed below. Any game I don’t have will be mark with an asterisk. The reason why the Xbox 360 has the advantage over the PlayStation 3 with respect to these types of re-releases is simply that everything, for the most part, comes on a separate disc. This means that disc sharing is a possibility; that alone is my reason for creating this guide.

So here we go:

Batman Arkham Asylum Game of the Year Edition
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [Not Applicable]
- What is included on the sole disc?
o Main Game
o Insane Night Map Pack
o Dem Bones Challenge Map
o Crime Alley Challenge Map
- Does it require the first “Play” disc? [NO, all assets are on one disc]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [NO on Save]
Notes: All content has been integrated into the game so there are no codes or second disc. One caveat: original save data is not compatible. You would have to start over again.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Batman Arkham City Game of the Year Edition
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [YES]
- What is included on the sole disc?
o Catwoman Pack
o Nightwing Bundle Pack
o Robin Bundle Pack
o Arkham City Skins Pack
o Batman Inc. Batsuit Skin
o Challenge Map Pack
o Harley Quinn's Revenge
- Does it require the first “Play” disc? [NO]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [NO on DLC; YES on Save]
Notes: All content is on a second disc however none of it is compatible with the vanilla release of the game. Such a shame. At least this version can use the vanilla save file. The PS3 version cannot. Please note that there appears to be two SKUs, one with a code for a movie and one without.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Bioshock Ultimate Rapture Edition (Bioshock & Bioshock 2)
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [YES, one per game]
- What is included on the second disc?
o Ryan Industries Plasmids and Gene Tonics– 19.76 MB
o Minerva's Den – 1.01 GB
o The Protector Trials – 1.2 GB
o Rapture Metro & Kill 'em Kindly – 660 MB
o Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack – 108 K
- Does it require the first “Play” disc? [NO]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [YES]
Notes: You can select what to install. One “Install” disc per game so for the Xbox 360 it is a 4 disc release and also comes in a fancy folded disc case with a couple of stickers.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Bioshock Infinite The Complete Edition
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [YES]
- What is included on the second disc?
o Columbia’s Finest Pack – 140 KB
o Clash in the Clouds – 1.45 GB
o Burial at Sea Episode 1 – 2.00 GB
o Burial at Sea Episode 2 – 2.03 GB + 1.26 GB
- Does it require the first “Play” disc? [NO]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [YES]
Notes: You can select what to install. Standard re-release otherwise.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Borderlands Game of the Year Edition
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [YES]
- What is included on the second disc?
o The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned – 1014 MB
o Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot – 512 MB
o The Secret Armory of General Knoxx – 1.7 GB
o Claptrap's New Robot Revolution – 1.4 GB
- Does it require the first “Play” disc? [NO]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [YES]
Notes: You can select what to install. Be very careful when purchasing this game. The first release of this variant had a DLC card in place of a disc. Then it switched over. Why it started one way and then went the other way is up for debate. Oh, and foldout map.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [YES]
- What is included on the second disc?
o Mechromancer Pack – 108 KB
o Psycho Pack – 129 MB
o Creature Slaughterdome – 60 KB
o Collector's Edition Pack – 60 KB
o Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack – 60 KB
o Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty – 1.3 GB
o Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage – 1.6 GB
o Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt – 1002 MB
o Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep – 1.8 GB
- Does it require the first “Play” disc? [NO]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [YES]
Notes: You can select what to install. While this is labeled as Game of the Year, it does not include the 6 pieces of post GoTY content. This content is a second Upgrade Pack and all five of the Headhunter Mission packs.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Borderlands Triple Pack
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [See Notes]
- What is included on the second disc?
o Borderlands
 The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned – 1014 MB
 Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot – 512 MB
 The Secret Armory of General Knoxx – 1.7 GB
 Claptrap's New Robot Revolution – 1.4 GB
o Borderlands 2
 Mechromancer Pack – 108 KB
 Psycho Pack – 129 MB
 Creature Slaughterdome – 60 KB
 Collector's Edition Pack – 60 KB
 Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack – 60 KB
 Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack Two -
 Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty – 1.3 GB
 Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage – 1.6 GB
 Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt – 1002 MB
 Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep – 1.8 GB
 T.K. Baha's Bloody Harvest – 538 MB
 The Horrible Hunger of the Ravenous Waddle Gobbler – 511 MB
 How Marcus Saved Mercenary Day – 511 MB
 Mad Moxxi and the Wedding Day Massacre – 502 MB
 Sir Hammerlock vs. the Son of Crawmerax – 502 MB
o Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel
 Shock Drop Slaughter Pit – 108 KB
 Jack the Doppelganger Pack – 169.96 MB
 The Holodome Onslaught & Vault Hunter Pack – 378.21 MB
 Lady Hammerlock the Baroness Pack – 188.43 MB
 Claptrap's Claptastic Voyage – 2.04 GB + 474.75 MB
- Does it require the first “Play” disc? [NO]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [YES]
Notes: This is the most comprehensive re-release on this list to date. This includes the entire Borderlands franchise with every piece of DLC split between six discs. Due to disc space limitations it does not follow the “one DLC disc per game” tune. Each DLC disc includes different pieces of DLC from different games. The good thing is that it does not require the game disc for any of the discs. For Borderlands 2, this includes 6 pieces of DLC not included in the Game of The Year edition released earlier. This content is a second Upgrade Pack and all five of the Headhunter Mission packs. This re-release is the only way to get those pieces of DLC mentioned, and The Pre-Sequel DLC in physical form.

-----------------------------------------------

Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [YES]
- What is included on the second disc?
o The Missing Link – 1.93 GB
o Tactical Enhancement Pack – 108 K
o Explosive Mission Pack – 108 K
- Does it require the first “Play” disc? [NO]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [YES, but See Notes]
Notes: You can select what to install. This release includes about 8 hours of commentary, a behind the scenes video, improved visuals, New Game+, overhaul of the boss battles, and lastly, the Missing Link is now integrated into the story rather than a side story that was selectable from the main menu. With regard with the vanilla release, the DLC story integration included in the Director’s Cut may not be present in the vanilla release. Unknown if you can select the Missing Link from the menu or you must play the story out until you get to the part where Missing Link takes place. I will test this out.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Dishonored Game of the Year Edition
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [YES]
- What is included on the second disc?
o The Knife of Dunwall – 1.3 GB
o The Brigmore Witches – 1.8 GB
o Dunwall City Trials – 931 MB
o Void Walker's Arsenal – 68 KB
- Does it require the insertion of the first “Play” disc? [NO]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [YES]
Notes: You can select what to install. This release came with a poster in the case and a slipcase over the case.

-----------------------------------------------

Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [YES]
- What is included on the second disc?
o Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening – 1.9 GB
o The Stone Prisoner – 197 MB
o Warden's Keep – 126 MB
o Return to Ostagar – 135 MB
o The Darkspawn Chronicles – 346 MB
o Leliana's Song – 471 MB
o The Golems of Amgarrak – 422 MB
o Witch Hunt – 447 MB
o Feastday Gifts – 888 KB
o Feastday Pranks – 984 KB
- Does it require the insertion of the first “Play” disc? [NO]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [YES]
Notes: You can select what to install.

-------------------------------------------------

Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [Not Applicable]
- What is included on the sole disc?
o Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening
- Does it require the first “Play” disc? [NO, all assets are on one disc]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [Not Applicable]
Notes: This is a single disc release of the single-player DLC for Dragon Age: Origins. It has all of the assets of the original game so it does not require the original game.

--------------------------------------------------

Fable II: Platinum Hits
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [Not Applicable]
- What is included on the sole disc?
o Main Game
o Knothole Island
o See the Future
- Does it require the first “Play” disc? [NO, all assets are on one disc]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [YES]
Notes: This is a re-release version of Fable II with the two main pieces of content preloaded onto the disc. One thing to note is that it does not include the limited edition bonus a.k.a. the Master Chief Weapons and Armor.

--------------------------------------------------

Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [YES]
- What is included on the second disc?
o Operation: Anchorage – 370 MB
o The Pitt – 493 MB
o Broken Steel – 621 MB
o Point Lookout – 450 MB
o Mothership Zeta – 325 MB
- Does it require the first “Play” disc? [NO]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [YES]
Note: I have the Platinum Hits version but the original release came in a shiny slipcase. It is the same game. You can select what to install.

-----------------------------------------------------

Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [YES]
- What is included on the second disc?
o Dead Money – 249 MB
o Honest Hearts – 255 MB
o Old World Blues – 410 MB
o Lonesome Road – 410 MB
o Gun Runners Arsenal – 59 MB
o Courier's Stash – 10 MB
- Does it require the first “Play” disc? [NO]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [YES]
Notes: Courier’s stash is the four pre-order DLC packs from the original release combined into one. You can select what to install.

------------------------------------------------------

Far Cry Compilation
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [Not Applicable]
- What is included in the package?
o Far Cry 2
o Far Cry 3
o Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
- Does it require the first “Play” disc? [Not Applicable]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [Not Applicable]
Notes: I have included this re-release not for the two main games but for the one and only physical release of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. This game was released only via download as a standalone game. This was also released on the PlayStation 3 however Blood Dragon is a download code only. You won’t see this entry in that section because of that.

------------------------------------------------------

Forza Motorsport 2 The Complete Collection (Platinum Hits)
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [YES]
- What is included on the second disc?
o September Car Pack – 40 MB
o December Car Pack – 94 MB
o March Car Pack – 55 MB
o Nissan Tournament Car Pack – 16 MB
o Limited Collector's Edition Car Pack – 68 KB
o Nissan Fairlady Z Pre-Order Car – 68 KB
o Road America Track Pack – 169 MB
o Twin Ring Motegi Track Pack – 184 MB
- Does it require the first “Play” disc? [NO]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [Unknown]
Notes: The DLC for this game on Xbox Live has been delisted due to licensing reasons. This disc is the only way to get these DLC packs! You can select what to install.

-----------------------------------------------------

Forza Motorsport 3 Ultimate Collection (Platinum Hits)
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [YES]
- What is included on the second disc?
o American Car Pack – 326 MB
o Asian Car Pack – 443 MB
o Forza Ultimate Car Pack 1 – 325 MB
o Forza Ultimate Car Pack 2 – 410 MB
o Forza Ultimate Car Pack 3 – 297 MB
o Forza Ultimate Track Pack – 478 MB
o Road Racing Track Pack – 733 MB
o Includes DLC card for Top Gear Content – 34 MB and 1015 MB for a video
- Does it require the first “Play” disc? [YES]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [Unknown]
Notes: I cannot seem to find a complete itemized list of DLC included but I can confirm all is included but the VIP stuff. All DLC has been delisted from Xbox Live due to licensing reasons. This is the only way to get the DLC packs. Also, I’ve heard reports that the DLC card included is no longer available. This I cannot confirm but if true it most likely fell victim to licensing reasons.

------------------------------------------------------------

Grand Theft Auto IV: Episodes from Liberty City
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [Not Applicable]
- What is included on the sole disc?
o The Lost and Damned
o The Ballad of Gay Tony
- Does it require the first “Play” disc? [NO, all assets are on one disc]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [YES on save]
Notes: This is a single disc release of the two single-player DLC for Grand Theft Auto IV. It has all of the assets of the original game so it does not require it at all.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Grand Theft Auto IV the Complete Edition
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [Not Applicable]
- What is included on the two discs?
o Grand Theft Auto IV
o The Lost and Damned
o The Ballad of Gay Tony
- Does it require the first “Play” disc? [NO, all assets are on each disc]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [YES on save]
Notes: There are two discs in this set: one is dedicated to Grand Theft Auto IV and the other is from the DLC only release. They combined the vanilla release with the Episodes release into one package.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

L.A. Noire
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [Not Applicable]
- What is included in the package?
o Main Game
o The Naked City Case
o A Slip of the Tongue Case
o Nicholson Electroplating Case
o Reefer Madness Case
o The Broderick Outfit
o The Sharpshooter Outfit
o Nickel Plated Pistol
o Chicago Piano Gun
o The Badge Pursuit Challenge
- Does it require the first “Play” disc? [NO, all assets are on one disc]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [NO on Save; DLC N/A]
Notes: This release is a four disc set for the Xbox 360 where the DLC for the game has been integrated within the game itself. It comes with a slipcase over the DVD case.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Mass Effect Platinum Hits
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [YES]
- What is included on the second disc?
o Bring Down The Sky – 254 MB
o Gamer pictures – 376 KB
o Premium theme – 13 MB
- Does it require the first “Play” disc? [NO]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [YES]
Notes: There are two releases of this game. You need to look for specially marked copies of the game. The copy with the second disc has a marking on it that says it includes the DLC disc. Keep this in mind when hunting. On top of the included DLC, the second disc also has behind the scenes videos and some concept art.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mass Effect Trilogy
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [Not Quite]
- What is included in the package?
o See Notes
- Does it require the first “Play” disc? [Not Quite]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [WHO KNOWS?]
Notes: Where may I begin: The Xbox 360 version has the poorest support from the “re-release” stand point. It is a five disc set that includes the three Mass Effect games, assumingly patched to the latest release. It does include DLC however these two pieces of DLC are now free: The Cerberus Network, and the Online Pass for Mass Effect 2 and 3 respectively via a code card. These were not free at one point as they were used as a second hand market deterrent. So basically it does not come with DLC at all. Both need to be downloaded from Xbox Live and if you don’t have an internet connection you will not have access to the actual free DLC that were released for the games. I understand this goes against the theme of this guide but when you head over to the PS3 section you will see why it is included. Oh, it’s got Kinect support for Mass Effect 3.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Qubed
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [Not Applicable]
- What is included on the sole disc?
o Lumines Live!
o Rez HD
o E4: Every Extend Extra Extreme
- Does it require the first “Play” disc? [Not Applicable]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [YES]
Notes: This is a compilation of three XBLA games released over the course of the Xbox 360’s life. They were only released on the Xbox 360 therefore making it exclusive to the console. This physical compilation is exclusive to the Xbox 360 as well. Lumines Live! is based off of the original PSP game but has been enhanced with 720p, 5.1 surround sound, and other exclusive content. Rex HD is based on the Dreamcast game with higher resolution and increased sound capabilities. E4 is an expanded version of the PSP game but with 1080i support, 5.1 surround sound, and exclusive content. Having these games in physical form is highly recommended.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [Not Applicable]
- What is included on the sole disc?
o Undead Nightmare
- Does it require the first “Play” disc? [NO, all assets are on one disc]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [YES on save]
Notes: This is a single disc release of the single-player DLC for Red Dead Redemption. It has all of the assets of the original game so it does not require it at all.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Red Dead Redemption: Game of the Year Edition
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [Not Applicable]
- What is included on the two discs?
o Red Dead Redemption
o Undead Nightmare
o Multiplayer DLC
- Does it require the first “Play” disc? [NO, all assets are on one disc per game]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [YES on save]
Notes: There are two discs in this set: one is dedicated to Red Dead Redemption Single player and the other is for the single-player DLC and Multiplayer DLC.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition & Game of the Year Edition
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [YES]
- What is included on the second disc?
o Shivering Isles – 994 MB
o Knights of the Nine – 142 MB
- Does it require the first “Play” disc? [NO]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [YES]
Notes: The 5th Anniversary edition comes in a Steelbook and plastic slipcase with a map inside. It includes a third disc with making of videos. The other variant is a typical release in plastic DVD case. The third disc is not included. In either case, Horse Armor is not included. You can select what to install.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Legendary Edition
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [YES]
- What is included on the second disc?
o Dawnguard – 584 MB
o Hearthfire – 76 MB
o Dragonborn – 791 MB
- Does it require the first “Play” disc? [NO]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [YES, see notes]
Notes: This comes in a slipcase over the DVD case. This version can be used with the Kinect Sensor due to a past title update included on disc. The vanilla release does not have Kinect support. You can select what to install. If using the second disc in conjunction with the vanilla release of the game, it may require an update to 1.9 which is the last update.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

XBLA Three Pack - LIMBO, Trials HD, Splosion Man
- Does it include a second “Install” disc? [Not Applicable]
- What is included on the sole disc?
o LIMBO
o Trials HD
o Splosion Man
- Does it require the first “Play” disc? [Not Applicable]
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [YES]
Notes: This is a compilation of three XBLA’s Summer of Arcade games released over the course of the Xbox 360’s life. While LIMBO found itself on other platforms over time and Trials HD found itself on PC four years later, Splosion Man is exclusive to the Xbox 360. Having these games in physical form is highly recommended.

Re: Guide to Re-Releases with DLC Inclusion.

by casterofdreams Fri Oct 18, 2013 11:04 pm

PlayStation 3

This section will be about the PlayStation 3. I don’t have many games for the system here but I will do my best with assumptions as to how the DLC is handled. The way it is handled is simple: it is a single disc with all of the DLC and main game on one single Blu-ray disc. When you pop in the disc the PS3 will recognize the disc as usual but an extra option will open up under the normal “Play Game” option in the XMB Game Menu. It will give you the option to install the DLC then you can select “Play Game” and proceed as normal. I have no way of testing if the DLC included will work with the vanilla release of the game via disc sharing. Formatting of the guide will be different but generally the same information will be given.

Let’s move on.

Batman Arkham Asylum Game of the Year Edition
- Single Blu-ray Disc
- What is included on the disc?
o Main Game
o Insane Night Map Pack
o Dem Bones Challenge Map
o Crime Alley Challenge Map
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [Not Applicable]
Notes: All content has been integrated into the game so there are no codes. This release has two exclusive DLC for the PS3 that the Xbox 360 never got. You must go to the PSN store to download those two pieces of content. One caveat: original save data is not compatible. You would have to start over again.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Batman Arkham City Game of the Year Edition
- Single Blu-ray Disc
- What is included on the disc?
o Catwoman Pack
o Nightwing Bundle Pack
o Robin Bundle Pack
o Arkham City Skins Pack
o Batman Inc. Batsuit Skin
o Challenge Map Pack
o Harley Quinn's Revenge
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [NO]
Notes: All content is on a single Blu-ray disc via the XMB install menu however none of it is compatible with the vanilla release of the game. Such a shame. This version cannot use the vanilla save file. The Xbox 360 version can. Please note that there appears to be two SKUs, one with a code for a movie and one without.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Bioshock Ultimate Rapture Edition (Bioshock & Bioshock 2)
- Two Blu-ray discs
- What is included on the two discs?
o Main Game per disc
o Ryan Industries Plasmids and Gene Tonics
o Minerva's Den
o The Protector Trials
o Rapture Metro & Kill 'em Kindly
o Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [YES]
Notes: All content is on a single Blu-ray disc via the XMB install menu. One disc plus DLC per game so for the PlayStation 3 it is a 2 disc release and also comes in a fancy folded disc case with a couple of stickers.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Borderlands Triple Pack
- Two Blu-ray discs
- What is included on the two discs?
o Borderlands
 The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned
 Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot
 The Secret Armory of General Knoxx
 Claptrap's New Robot Revolution
o Borderlands 2
 Mechromancer Pack
 Psycho Pack
 Creature Slaughterdome
 Collector's Edition Pack
 Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack
 Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack Two -
 Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty
 Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage
 Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt
 Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep
 T.K. Baha's Bloody Harvest
 The Horrible Hunger of the Ravenous Waddle Gobbler
 How Marcus Saved Mercenary Day
 Mad Moxxi and the Wedding Day Massacre
 Sir Hammerlock vs. the Son of Crawmerax
o Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel
 Shock Drop Slaughter Pit
 Jack the Doppelganger Pack
 The Holodome Onslaught & Vault Hunter Pack
 Lady Hammerlock the Baroness Pack
 Claptrap's Claptastic Voyage
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [YES]
Notes: This is the most comprehensive re-release on this list to date. This includes the entire Borderlands franchise with every piece of DLC split between two discs. One disc has all three games on it and the second disc has all of the DLC listed above. You can pop in the send disc first and install all of it or whichever piece you want if you're short on disc space.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Grand Theft Auto IV the Complete Edition
- Single Blu-ray Disc
- What is included on the disc?
o Grand Theft Auto IV
o The Lost and Damned
o The Ballad of Gay Tony
Notes: Just pop it in and play! You can choose which adventure you would like to play on the main screen.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Mass Effect Trilogy
- Three Blu-ray Discs [One per game]
- What is included on the discs?
o Main Game per disc
o Bring Down the Sky
o Kasumi - Stolen Memory
o Overlord
o Lair of the Shadow Broker
Notes: Quite a bit better here for the PS3 release. This is the best version of the series over the PC and Xbox 360 counterparts in terms of included content. It does include two other pieces DLC however these two pieces of DLC are now free: The Cerberus Network, and the Online Pass for Mass Effect 2 and 3 respectively via a code card. These were not free at one point as they were used as a second hand market deterrent. Both need to be downloaded from the PSN Store and if you don’t have an internet connection you will not have access to the actual free DLC that was released for the games. This is the only way to play the first Mass Effect game. EA, you have done great with Dragon Age: Origins. You could have done better here.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Red Dead Redemption: Game of the Year Edition
- Single Blu-ray Disc
- What is included on the disc?
o Red Dead Redemption
o Undead Nightmare
o Multiplayer DLC
Notes: Just pop it in and play! You can choose which adventure you would like to play on the main screen.

-----------------------------------------------------------

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Legendary Edition
- Single Blu-ray Disc
- What is included on the disc?
o Main game patched to v1.9
o Dawnguard
o Hearthfire
o Dragonborn
- Does it work with the vanilla release of the game? [YES, see notes]
Notes: This comes in a slipcase over the disc case. The DLC on disc can actually be installed through 3 different languages: English, Spanish and French. Ah the power of Blu-ray! If using the XMB install function in conjunction with the vanilla release of the game, it may require an update to 1.9 which is the last update.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Nintendo Wii U

Yes. Nintendo Wii U. It actually has a small handful of games that would fit the scope of this guide and I own four of these games so I will list them here. Nintendo uses a proprietary disc that has 25 GB of space so in this case the content that was considered DLC for the PS3 and Xbox 360 releases are integrated into the game seamlessly. This is good since 32 GB is the most one can get on a Wii U without external drives.

Let’s get it done.

Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition
- What is included in the package:
o Main Game
o Catwoman Pack
o Nightwing Bundle Pack
o Robin Bundle Pack
o Arkham City Skins Pack
o Batman Inc. Batsuit Skin
o Challenge Map Pack
o Harley Quinn's Revenge
o Battle Armored Tech (B.A.T.) Mode
o Armored Suits for both Batman and Catwoman
Notes: The last two items are Wii U exclusive. B.A.T. is one of those typical charging power ups where you click in some button combo after getting hit or hitting other to do more damage for a set period of time. The Armored Suits are cosmetic but looks pretty cool.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Darksiders II
- What is included in the package:
o Main Game
o Argul’s Tomb
o Death Rides Pack
o Angel of Death & Shadow of Death packs
o Deadly Despair Pack
o Additional unique legendary weapon and armor sets
Notes: Standard stuff here. Some Wii U specific controller functions but nothing life changing.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut
- What is included in the package:
o Main Game
o The Missing Link
o Tactical Enhancement Pack
o Explosive Mission Pack
Notes: This release includes about 8 hours of commentary, a behind the scenes video, improved visuals, New Game+, overhaul of the boss battles, and lastly, the Missing Link is now integrated into the story rather than a side story that was selectable from the main menu. Some Wii U Pad specific controller functions have been added and it take a bit of getting used to.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Mass Effect 3: Special Edition
- What is included in the package:
o Main Game
o Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut
o Mass Effect 3: From Ashes
o The M-597 Ladon
o Mass Effect 3: Resurgence Pack
o Mass Effect 3: Rebellion Pack
o Mass Effect 3: Earth
o Mass Effect: Genesis 2
o Mass Effect 3: Firefight Pack
o Mass Effect 3: N7 Warfare Gear
o The AT-12 Raider
Notes: That is a lot of stuff! Not really. Resurgence, Rebellion and Earth were free DLC for the other consoles and were geared towards multiplayer. For this release Multiplayer is nowhere near as active and perhaps no longer available. The M-597, N7 Warfare and AT-12 are weapons and armor packs for the single player game. Extended Cut was free and From Ashes was a Collector’s Edition DLC or paid for standard edition. Genesis 2 was also paid DLC and is necessary to gather some story from the first and second game in the series as well as making key choices. Still overall it isn’t too bad. No other DLC for the game was ever released for the Wii U.

Thanks I appreciate it.

Its is a fantastic game. One of the best stealth games I've played in quite some time. Granted I kill everything in sight you can choose to go non-lethal for the most part.

I also added pictures so that if one day anyone sees these variants they can get the most out of the purchase.

I really appreciate you putting this together. There is a great thread for this on Cheapassgamer:

I am not sure that the list there is complete - and it certainly does not include games from the previous generation like Elder Scrolls III or Ninja Gaiden Black - but you might want to cross-reference it when you are constructing your list.

Wow seems like a lot of stuff there. Well I will continue to expand this list with what I have. I can do some Xbox stuff like Morrowind and Fable the Lost Chapters which I have. I can include those on the next update as well as a few PS3 games I own. I don't want to copy that verbatim.

Really enjoy this as I look to go after GOTY sets with DLC content as well.

Borderlands 2 and Halo 4 are the two I'm looking at next myself.

I was surprised - no Arkham Origins GOTY or definitive release? I wonder if they'll do a huge Batman compilation for PS4/XBO that includes everything.

edit: Nevermind - Batman: Arkham Origins Complete Edition is on the cheapassgamer list but doesn't look like it released?

Kojima just tweeted "Metal Gear Collection 2014".

I hope this is a complete collection of all MG games for current gen and PC. However, they would have had to totally remake MGS4 from the ground up because of the PS3 architecture from what I understand.
