would VF4 Evo count?
http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps2/563568-virt ... /box-51513
it had new content, different from the VF4 disc. sold only as GH in usa.
The bar codes will be a nightmare to compile unless I owned every one of the Special Edition games. Probably wouldn't be of much help anyways, I don't think any store would list by UPC on a website for the consumer to research.

Great call on Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution! I didn't even know about this one only released as a Greatest Hits version in the U.S. So is it considered a new game or an update to Virtua Fighter 4 as in Midnight Club 3 Greatest Hits? Meh, I added it to the OP list since the U.S. only has the Greatest Hits version.

Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution Greatest Hits (Extra Content)

This game is the epitome of contemporary fighting games, and at the budget price of only $20, it's virtually priceless. That VF4 Evo even made it stateside is miraculous, but to have it debut as a Greatest Hits title is literally unbelievable. The biggest complaint I could make about the game (besides the inability to import/export custom players) is that the box art is branded with that ugly red Greatest Hits stripe.

just search here:

http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/search.pl

narrow the search as such:

console: PS2
country: USA
title: edition

this will bring up every game with "edition" in the title (special edition, limited edition, etc) and each game's page has the SLUS #.

THANKS! This is handy, may not catch all the unique editions, but also can find others that are unknown. Bookmarked this too and added your quote to the OP.

the Magix Music Make Deluxe Edition is actually a single disc re-release. It does feature extra content, but all on a single disc -- not a bonus disc.

Sorry I havent been around My Pops has cancer and things are rather tough around here lately. Also I needed something strong to come back to the forum with and after I did a little digging I found this game!

The Need for Speed Most Wanted Black Edition has:

2 exclusive cars, 67 Camaro & BMW M3 GTR

8 Additional custom cars which can be used in Quick Race and Online modes.

Supra, Lotus Elise, Porsche 911 GT2, Mercedes-Benz SL6500, AMG, Corvette C6, Mercedes-Benz SL 500, Porsche 911 Carrera S and Corvette C6.R.

Exclusive Pursuit Challenge (a added hot pursuit mode)

Three Exclusive Races

Exclusive and Unlocked Vinyls

And this should be right up your alley a Bonus DVD!!!!!

There are collection releases, this one is unique with a PS1 game packaged in a PS2 case with a matching DVD case sized manual. The manual shows a white PSOne in the instructions, maybe one of the last PS1 releases? A shame Sony didn't make a improved graphics PS2 version. Gamecube has Twin Snakes but without the original voice accents. Ah well, there is always Bleem or the PC version. Updated the list in the OP.

Metal Gear Solid: The Essential Collection (PS2 Metal Gear 2, 3 and PS1 Metal Gear Solid)

Scarface on PS2 has a special dvd version.
