Okay, if I do. Looks to be a meticulous process. I did look inside my Flightstick a few months ago. This was before I went the Blaze route. The trickiest part is matching up the original proprietary potentiometers to replacement PCB removed POT solder pads. A concern of different OHM ratings and getting all the wires in line with the common in the replacement PCB.

I kid you not, I was just researching the dual stick 5200 thing today, after half considering getting a 5200 for the upcoming long lost Tempest port. Which, of course, made me think about my dual stick ASC idea that I've been running around in my head for ages now (I mentioned it in my controller thread).

The Blaze stick idea could also be used with an X-Arcade Dual Joystick, which adds Xbox 360 support and PC support to the mix (though getting Xbox 360 analog support is another matter - MAME support on the other hand doesn't even require a mod). It makes me half consider getting one, really, but I think all those buttons are superfluous considering I'm an arcade parts purist and the fact that I like my controllers separated. A nice, clean dual stick with a minimal amount of buttons is still my goal.

Karate Champ is another dual joystick game. Ikari Warriors used a stick with a knob that was turned to change the direction of fire. Tron used a joystick (practically a flight stick) and a rotary spinner, as did Forgotten Worlds.

Black Widow, Krull, Total Carnage, Inferno, Splat, Boot Hill, Gunfight, Warrior, Cloak and Dagger, Rescue, Lost Tomb, Minefield, Libble Rabble, and Firetrap are other dual joystick games.

Libble Rabble and Crazy Climber had a special pad for X68000 (and by virtue of the controller schematics, also MSX, FM Towns Marty, and Master system):

And while I was looking up Libble Rabble, I found this!

I am totally stealing that idea.

I also found a Virtual On dual stick controller made with a cake pan.

Lotta additional Twin Stick games!

Don't know how I missed Splat, mixed up with Food Fight.

Added Splat and Total Carnage to OP list, thanks!

Anyone knows of additional Twinstick Home Console versions as in compilation packs, please post.

EDIT
Cake Pan mod link looks interesting, if okay may expand on that at the top of this page.

Here is a Brief case version with the same Quick Shot Joysticks.

Thanks a lot, now I can't sleep because of this enlightening news. Ended up making a new post:

I think Gun Fight circa 1975 qualifies as the first Twin Stick Arcade game. :D
For non-commercial venture, hadda been MIT Space War, circa 1961.

Boot Hill circa 1977, same controller layout. Twinstick and Two player!

I was going thru my PS1 games and discovered another "Twin Stick" game. ROBOTRON X. This is an update to the classic Arcade, a semi 3d view. This was released before the Dual Shock came out, so the four face buttons are the fire directions. A perfect game for the easy Twin Stick mod in the OP.

A great perspective of Robotron 2084:

So PlayStation Analog Joystick is definitely NOT compatible with ps2 Sega ages Virtual On?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStatio ... ck_support
would a mod be doable?
Mod PlayStation Analog Joystick with a Ps2 dualshock pcb?

Unfortunately the PS1 "Flightstick" will not work with any regular Dual Shock game. It has its own unique dual analog mode that only certain games support. It also has a digital pad mode where both sticks work identically as the direction pad.

If the Flightstick was modded with a PS2 Dual Shock PCB and potentiometers then it could work with Virtua On. Note that the PS2 Virtua On games also have a digital button customize option which allows an easier method of modding a two player Digital Arcade stick as I did in the OP.

Thanks for the answers, the Sega Ages Virtual On is really something. I always heard good thing about it, but only played it this week.
It is quite playable with dualshock set up. Great attract mode with a great song as well.

The Blaze Twinshock works like a dream with the simple mod in the OP.
