PS2 DUAL ANALOG SCPH-10520

History Repeats Itself

Spotted a post on not the PS1, but the PS2 DUAL ANALOG! These were for sale for a short time at Wallymart during the vibration motor lawsuit. No extra feature such as a third mode as in the PS1 DUAL ANALOG, but still a nice collectable!

Anyone remember when the Yellow PS2 controller display packages were blue? There could have been some rarities on that peg hook! :?

No, that controller exists. It was packaged in a blue package. The only place I know of that sold them was Walmart. I remember them being around only for a few weeks. The model number is SCPH-10520 I suspect that Walmart pulled a GameQuestDirect on that one and they didn't sell.

Picked this up at Wal-Mart yesterday for 14.95 USD. It's a (new?) Sony-branded budget PS2 controller without rumble motors. I haven't seen this before and couldn't find any existing info on it. Besides the missing motors it's somewhat different internally than previous DS2 pads I've seen.
Lum wrote:http://assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34268

Likely it was because of that Immersion law suit. Since these appeared around 2007. Sony went through the effort to not only remove the motors, but issue a new name and model number. They're not called Dual Shock 2. Just plain Analog Controller.

Dual Shock 2 was yes the original 2000 pack in, being a far lower SCPH-10010.

NOTE THE LACK OF MOTORS IN THE EXPOSED SHELL BELOW.

Interesting!

Does it say DUAL SHOCK 2? Next to the cord on the controller? If not then whats written on it?

Give us some tips so if we get lucky and see if we can find it out in the wild.

May not be as lucky finding it complete in box, but loose is possible.

Thanks aaron for permission and noise for the move! :D

@ noise - Thanks, the move synced in perfect, the PS2 DUAL Analog is at the top of this page. I'll continue to update the OP for PS1 DUAL ANALOG info and make the top of page 3 the PS2 DUAL ANALOG Guide.

Re: PS1 Dual Analog Guide- PS2 DUAL ANALOG Discovered!

Post by fahlim003 »

Just bumping this to see if anyone has a list or wants to begin compiling a list of all games the Dual Analog controller supports - both for Analog mode and Flightstick mode.

I recently was trying out a few games and it seems even Analog isn't supported by much (ie, MGS VR Missions as one example).

I linked in the OP another Thread concerning the Flightstick including a couple of PS2 games that actually work with the old Flightstick. I also updated Wiki with the same info.

PS1 Flight Stick Announcement

Image

I recently discovered a whole ton of additional games that work with the Sony Flightstick that have not been documented. All I can say for now is this is really a big plus for a beautiful Flight Stick that was thought to only support less then thirty games. Figuring out a proper Review to announce the undocumented feature in the games. For now I am having too much fun flying! :D

Thanks to Demented Collector, I added a pic of the Dual Analog with the box. :D

Sidewinder 2 - An unknown Flightstick Supported game

Image

I discovered a PS1 Japan release only game that uses the PSX Flightstick. This game was not listed on Wikipedia, I just finished adding it there. Sidewinder 2 is a decent Flight Sim though the graphics are a little dated. There has got to be other games waiting to be discovered.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStatio ... ck_support

This updates the PS1 Flightstick supported games to 25 titles and PS2 games at 2 for a total of Only Twenty Seven SCPH1110 supported games. Not a very high number for a huge Flightstick made by Sony. Are there other games that can be made to work with the "Obsolete" Flightstick?

This tiny logo on the back of the Jewel Case caught my eye!

The manual showing the Flightstick, luckily the game has an English language option.
