Sengoku Basara

Post by Sonicx360 »

I've been a fan of Sengoku Basara since I heard about Sengoku Basara X for PS2 and have the theme song (TM Revolution-Crosswise) stuck on my head. So far, the only "true" SB game I played is the 3rd pne for PS3 (Samurai Heroes). So far, it is the only hack & slash game I enjoyed and my all-time favorite character is Date Masamune-PUT YOUR GUNS ON!!! Also seen the anime and so far, I like it. Too bad the series is pretty much neglected in the US.

So, what is your overall impression of this series? Is it any better than other hack & slash games? Why or why not?

It's good fun but nothing too special, in the end it's just a flashy Musou clone. I think 2 was the best one. The Yoshitune Eiyuuden games are the best Musou clones.

Also, there's going to be a Sengoku Basara HD Collection released in August, collecting the PS2 games.

Didn't know about the PS2 version, discovered Sengoku on the Wii. Bought because it does support Classic Controls which allows an adapted Duel Shock option. The sword fighting to me got redundent after a while. However, the gun toting character is a "blast", trues the saying "Never bring just a knife to a gunfight." :D
