Your old grandpappy's arcade machines

Post by J T »

I just saw this cool article/picture set about really old arcade machines.

I played a few old games like these when I was a kid. There was a rollercoaster park in Utah called Lagoon, and back in the 80s they had a huge arcade that included the popular games of the time with a small collection of old-tyme arcade machines like these:

I've never played these games, but I've always been mystified by them. The closet thing I've ever played were those games where you put a coin into a gun and try to flip it into one of the circles.

I've actually played the shooting range one before (or one like it, but it looks the same), it feels really nice but it's about as clunky as you'd imagine.
