Racing game recommendations.

Post by Xelyx »

I've recently become interested in racing games, so my question is: What systems have the best racing games? What would be the best racing wheel to look for for those systems? Thanks ahead of time for the help.

Get a Sega Saturn for the great arcade style racing!

Daytona USA on the Saturn, no wheel required. Use the pad or analog controller.
Also, Sega Rally, Daytona USA CE, Virtua Racing, Chase HQ Special, Gale Racer, Manx TT Super Bike, The Need for Speed, Road Rash, Outrun, Power Drift, Street Racer (fun SNES Mario Kart clone).

The PS2 is truthfully your best option for an overall spectrum of racers. Obviously Gran Turismo 5 or Forza 3 are your two top racing sims. I prefer arcade racers.

Absolute BEST arcade racer? Outrun 2006: Coast 2 Coast (PS2, X-Box). Logictech has great wheels available on the PS2 and PS3. Be prepared to pay a couple hundred dollars for a good one.

I just recently got a Dreamcast and was stunned at how many great racing games there are for it (Metropolis Street Racer, Test Drive Le Mans, Sega-GT, Sega Rally and a slew of others i haven't picked up yet). If you enjoy arcade-style racers the Dreamcast is worth looking at. :)

Shockingly enough, these two are best on the 3DO.

Really? I might actually have to dig out my 3DO now.
