Is there a beta build for this somewhere on the internet? A quick google search didn't find anything.

No betas - no playable. It's being worked on so actively that you can watch this guy debug it on livestream.

I've been following it on and off, but after I watched a livestream I've been tuning into them regularly.
I'm really glad that this is not released, but being perfected. It isn't a half-assed Klik & Play game.
