The soundtrack is by Jake "virt" Kaufman. I recommend checking out his other music too. Really great chiptune work. I like his FX4 album quite a bit.

Not really, no. Except for 3D obviously which this game doesn't need but they did a nice job with it.

Ha, I just realized I played through the entirety of that game on the 3DS without ever seeing the 3D. I might have to spin it up to see it.
