My personal order for X games would be
X2 = X3 > X1 >X4 > X8 > X5 > X6
Like I mentioned before, I've never played X7 so I can't really comment on it.

I can't see that at all. All I did was dash around slicing up everything in my path, Zero was easy mode on X4-X6 for me (definitely made the bosses a joke as well).
Re-read my post, I was talking about X8.

X6 is the best game in the series. Arguably the coolest bosses and is the most challenging game since the NES days. X8 is okay, but has way too many auto-scrolling segments without much going on, and has an annoying habit of locking you into rooms and forcing you to 'survive' lame enemy attacks. Don't have much of an opinion on the rest of the X games anymore.
