Outside of the superb acting, this gameplay demo should help you.

Also, Zero is *not* a good idea. Playing as a melee character in a game with enemies that are mainly ranged? Why?

As can X, then have room to dodge their projectile.Zero can get in an enemy's face and rip them to shreds before they know what hit them.
Great idea, telling the noob who can't even find a heart tank to learn how to time dashing under bullets. X can do the same thing, you know.Plus, as I recall, he can dash under some projectile attacks.
And X can't...?You can see this as early as the intro stage. Whatever he can't dash under, he can jump over.
An extra, useless step. It's all about closing the distance with him.
Why? Because he has a better standard weapon? I could see it being useful in no-special-weapon runs, but besides that... yeah. Nada.Zero is much easier to use than X for me.
OH NO HOW COULD I POSSIBLY DO SOMETHING THE REST OF MEGAMAN (besides Star Force) TRAINED ME FORYou don't have to hold that damn charge button all the time like you do with X's buster.
So it's a coordination issue. Got it. Seriously though, it's not like controlling X is as complicated as even a Gen 5 shooter. This makes using him more instinctive and intuitive because it frees up your fingers.
Wait patiently without taking damage for about two seconds... yeah, not seeing the problem with this. Sorry. It's much safer.I can attack more frequently too. With X, it's weak pellet gun or patiently wait for your gun to charge to get off a decent shot.
And risk taking damage. With Zero, you just tap the attack button three times and dish out a quick combo and do some damage.
The charged X buster is not weak, and the amount of time you take to dash to the enemy is about the same as it takes to get a decent charge. It's not like there's a timer, anyways...He doesn't have to charge anything, and he doesn't have weak attacks.
And during those three hits, other enemies can hit you.The third hit of his three hit combo hits multiple times and rips things apart.
I've never fought Magma Dragoon outside of the boss rush naked. I always use ride armor.
Plus, it just feels like the game was made for Zero. I mean he's a melee character and you have bosses like Magma Dragoon who fights like Ryu and Ken from Street Fighter.
Spamming a melee attack instead of spamming a ranged attack. I'm assuming you're talking about the boss rush. Yeah, still not seeing much of a difference besides being prone to his shoryuken.Going one on one with him using a melee character like Zero is epic in a way you just can't get with X.
You mean a pain in the ass suicide mission versus safely shooting away from the wall.Same goes for the fight with the Colonel, a light sabre on light sabre duel if you're playing as Zero.
Yeah, and we want this to be easier for the poor guy; it needs to be "just another boss fight", not a roadblock. If you're playing as X, it's just another boss fight.
Agreed. That's irrelevant, though. We're trying to make this easy for the OP.On top of all that, the story is meaningless if you play as X. It was clearly written for Zero
Anyway, bosses all have patterns in MM X 4, and they telegraph their attacks better than other MM X games I've played. With enough practice, you find yourself always two steps ahead of them and the stages themselves are easier once you memorize them and know where the enemies are coming from. MM X 4 may seem hard for some players initially, but it's easier when compared to MM X 5 and especially MM X 6
