Super Mario 3 or Super Mario World?
Some would say this is an unfair comparison of two games from different generations but this still doesn't answer the question "which is better?" One was the pinnacle of 8 bit platforming. The other was a ground breaking launch title in 16 bits. Tanooki suit or Cape?
I prefer Super Mario 3. So lets test the water.

Mario 3 was overall more unique and memorable, in my opinion.

SMW is great. It is one of the best platformers of all time. I gotta go with SMB3.
Re: Super Mario 3 or Super Mario World?
As of this post, I'm the only one to vote Super Mario World.
But they are one point away from each other imo.
Both are amazing games, and both were EDIT: Innovative ((Thanks)
I just like SMW better.

Super Mario World is my pick, although I don't own it.

For F--- sakes! Don't multiple versions of this thread already exist?
I'll go with SMW, because the Famicom cords are too short to enjoy SMB3 properly. I only play on the original consoles, because I'm a f---ing all-star like Dany Heatley. F--- the NES. It just bastardized the Famicom; the most perfect console ever designed.

Re: Super Mario 3 or Super Mario World?
So I guess I'm the only way to vote "both are equally great".
Maybe if SMB3 had a save function and would let you replay levels (like SMW) then it could be a completely different story.
Oh yeah... YOU WATCH YOUR FUCKING MOUTH! ...if anybody can get that reference.
