Oh most definitely! I just started rereading old game pro magazines through archive.org. It led me down a rabbit hole of fascinating things like a supposed star wars game for Sega Saturn that never came out, the never-ending Mario 64 sequel and also an old mmorpg I have never heard about THAT IS STILL AROUND!

Castle Infinity. An mmorpg made in 1997 for a younger audience. It was a 2d co-op puzzle platformer where you explore this ever expanding castle and solve puzzles with group activities and mini games. It looks very very strange in the most fascinating way.
