Does that SNES-style Gravis use a USB connection or Game Port?

I keep hoping to stumble upon another one in good shape locally.

Yep, that's the one I had. Loved it.

Yeah it was all game port, I remember trying to use it years ago and then you're like "wtf does this go?".

I still have a Gravis Gamepad Pro that's USB based. It's more the original Playstation controller, since it doesn't have analog sticks (can still be found on Amazon).

Oh yeah, I had a gamepad pro too - good call. It was absolutely a PS1 design.

Lot of flashbacks today, man I used these a ton back in the 90s.

I hated the pad on the Gravis. It wasn't actually all that nice. Gave me lots of issues.

Speaking of gamepads...

I'm looking for an app that will let a gamepad emulate a keyboard, like Xpadder or JoyToKey (these seem like the two most popular). The problem with those two programs is that the official websites don't list which OS they work under. I need something that'll work under Win98. Does anyone know if Xpadder or JoyToKey work under Win98? And if they don't, do you know of a similar app that does? I'm not coming up with much in Google.

I found a free and open source app called antimicro, but it supports current OSes only. I found another called Enjoy2, but it looks like that's OSX only. Also found Pinnacle Game Profiler, but their site also doesn't list OS compatibility.

For fuck's sake, how can you not list OS compatibility?

Or, I know that programmable gamepads (via software) existed during the Win98 era. Thing is, I'd have to be able to find the software to download, else find an eBay auction that includes it with the gamepad. Does anyone know of such a gamepad that fits the bill?

My last resort option would be to hack a controller to plug into a keyboard and "hijack" some keys. I'd rather not have to go this route if I don't have to though.

I added a wish to GoG that asks for them to provide original installers for games so that we can install them on our old DOS or Win9x computers.

https://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/inclu ... _an_option

There are some similar wishes that I found as well...

https://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/image ... tion_media

https://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/windo ... _installer

https://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/add_d ... installers

Please vote for these if you wanna be able to play your GoG purchases on your retro PCs!
