Post by exo »

arise dead thread!

just came to mention the win3x collection was released last year.

Now I'm prepping a new exodos release with a new frontend and a crap ton more features.

And then onto a Win9x collection.

HOLY SHITSNACKS!

This is the best news I've read in a while. I have the old 1.4 (1.5?) release of eXoDOS from PD hidden somewhere away on an external HDD... I gotta get in on the updates!

Is that like every single Win3.X game/app in some massive zip file? There really isn't a description there for it on the archive.

Exo makes large collections of pc games, that run in his frontend on a modern OS.

It's a 300something gig zipfile, yes. Has basically every Win 3.x game ever made, as well as a frontend and (IIRC) some extras like manuals and whatnot when he could find them.

So I spent part of yesterday playing with exodos2.0, if you dont think you need a spare harddrive just for dos games, think again. It is not the slickest setup I have used, but everything is there and I mean everything.

I fired up Their Finest Hour (Lucasarts early WW2 flight sim), and after a mission flipped to Xwing, then to Ripper. Everything worked well - though I did not test joystick support

glad it worked so well for you =)

Next release has a new front end that is quite a bit cleaner than Meagre. Also, lots of bug fixes and patches.

Hoping to get it out in the next few months.
