CTRL+TAB and CTRL+SHIFT+TAB also lets you switch between tabs in the browser. If you're using an older Office product it works too. I'm not sure about the evil ribbon BS versions though. :P

OP Updates

======================================================

Updated the OP with another useful utility. An auto screen resolution changer for older 640x480 games.:D

======================================================

Updated the OP with Keyboard individual Key Disablers. No more left Windows Key killing a keyboard controlled game and the dreaded Caps Lock key can now be set to a momentary Shift preventing accidental capital typing errors. :idea:

======================================================

Added more information concerning the Caps Lock Key (see Spoiler in OP) and expanded description on how to enable the Edit Bar permanently in Windows File Explorer.

======================================================

Added Spyware Removal section. Can really help to get your PC back to full speed again.

I would highly recommend AdwCleaner, it's fast, gets updated often and gets the job done safely.

^ Yeah, that's been working very well for me recently, where other tools (like Malwarebytes) have not been as effective.

Check this out: viewtopic.php?p=956744#p956744

It's not a removal tool, but it's something cool I recently discovered and it's also free.

Anti Exploit is good to have. I found out about it just before that writeup. Extra quiet protection from bad places.

Disable the Windows button :o ?!? I never considered the possibility. That button has been the bane of my PC gaming existence (although a small part of my gaming history).

Super awesome, I will definitely employ it, but can this be done on Windows 98 somehow? Like if you saved the registry key in Win98 format?
...just another lost soul...

For many years, Koroush Ghazi has been writing excellent guides to optimizing one's operating system for maximum efficiency. If you're looking to make your gaming PC run as lean and mean as possible, I recommend his tutorials:

I like those Tweak Guides, read them all the time. They're useful for seeing how to remove the sometimes annoying videos you see when you load a game, particularly the ones that promote a certain GPU brand working better for the game you're about to play.
