Does the card boot to windows fine in your old rig?

Yeah I've had similar experiences with prebuilt mobos.

Just to cover all the bases (even the unlikely ones), this guy here has a similar problem (cpu fans spinning, gpu isn't. gpu works in another unit, everything else checks out):

...and it turns out the culprit was an improperly seated motherboard screw that was causing a short circuit (I assume everytime he installs the card, it pushed the motherboard in a certain way that causes the screw to make contact with something it shouldn't.)

that link didn't work for me... but it's an interesting thought. What's so frustrating is that I had it working Wed night only to have it just go black screen on me in the middle of a game Thurs night.
