The Button Affair

This is a short game, but a lot of fun. The James Bond-esque story is expertly told within about 10 minutes, largely relying on the action to tell it. The game itself feels like a cross of Canabalt and Another World.

Undertale

Wow, I haven't made a post in this thread for awhile!

This is a charming indie RPG with some unique options in the battle mechanics such as adding the option to "compliment" your enemies to change their disposition. You can actually be a bit of a pacifist in this RPG if you want. There are also some clever puzzles and clever writing. It's only in a demo state now, but what is there is fun and free.

This is another DigiPen student project. There certainly is a lot of talent that comes out of that place. In Return to the Sky, you are quite literally running away from death. It's a platformer where you have to grab items to beat back death while you struggle to keep pace so he can't keep up with you. It's a nice mechanic for forcing speed and jumping accuracy to co-occur.

Kraven Manor

This is the latest indie horror game to become all the rage. It's a student project made by 13 graduate students in Texas. It has some of the highest quality graphics I have ever seen in a free indie game. The game is heavy on atmosphere which makes it rather spooky. It also has a nice Twilight Zone-esque mechanic where you find miniature versions of the mansion rooms and connect them together on a table that you can then use for teleporting. The whole game supposedly takes about an hour to complete.

It's been awhile, so here are two new games from the most excellent game design crew, Locomalito!

Verminian Trap

If you loved last year's brilliant They Came From Verminest, then you'll be happy to know there is a sequel, albeit in a different genre of gameplay. This is sort of like a cross between Pac Man and Berzerk in my opinion. Other stated influences include Wizard of Wor and Battle City. It's a tiny file with a big amount of fun inside.

Gaurodan
SIZE: 66MB

Do you like Choplifter? Defender? How about Giant Monster movies? This game has all of that rolled into another classic arcade style hit. DAIKAIJU!

Oh man, I've been playing Gaurodan sooo much! That game is AWESOME. I've also been checking out Locomalito's site and he has some really high quality work up there.
