Lunar 2 Publisher's Prototype Box | Working Designs (1998)

by IMJ Mon Jan 06, 2020 3:56 pm

This amazing prototype piece has survived the last two decades of marketing, storage, hand changing and the demise of Working Designs. This is not the Lunar box that came with your Lunar 2 game! This protoype box was manufactured as a test run, marketing piece to promote the release of Lunar 2 on the PSOne. Comparing this box to the final release and you can see the final art was changed. This may be a one of a kind relic from the heyday of Working Designs. For sale now!

I literally suddenly received a deluge of questions about this piece and so created this graphic to illustrate the nature of this prototype marketing piece. I hope this helps anyone interested and remember to check the link in sig! Thank you!

Bidding has come in a bit more on this -as far as I know- one of a kind item. I acquired this piece years ago from a Working Designs promotional shipment when I worked in the industry. I still not even sure if I want to let it go, but there you have it.... :)

I want to thank those of you who showed interest in this item. it sold nicely and I am happy to say that it wound up going to a truly, truly hard core Lunar collector - someone I've chatted with on discord and occasionally makes his way to boards like these. His Lunar collection is - at least as far as I've seen, second to none and I'm glad that this very obscure piece is going to reside with his other stuff.

Thanks for the racketboy crew for making the marketplace here sustainable and vibrant as well.

I'm glad you made out well on the deal and it made it into a collector's collection.
