Misinformation on prices of games by media outlets

by dogman91 Wed Jul 15, 2015 12:27 pm

http://www.buzzfeed.com/leonoraepstein/ ... worth-bank

23. Sega Genesis Aladdin Game, $255.19

and a link to a non-sold auction on eBay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/DISNEYS-ALADDIN ... 2350cadd92

"It IS a whole new world: one in which you’ve realized your dusty video games are worth bank."

Seems like half the people believe this stuff... wonder if these type of sites will ever learn.

I've had people assume my Atari collection is worth thousands.

Only once have I had the opposite experience. My sister-in-law couldn't believe I spent $25 on a CIB Phantasy Star. "Aren't all these old games worthless? No one plays this stuff anymore."

Same thing here people are astounded when I say most Atari games aren't worth but a buck or two. Hell I purchased a lot of around 200+ Atari games from a reseller for $75 after he realized there just wasn't much of a market for it. It had a bunch of duplicates but that is were 80% or so of my 2600 collection came from.

I was gonna say, if they want to buy my CIB Aladdin on the genesis for that price, they can have it.

The only thing I have of worth is my saturn stuff. It is all American releases and has all the big ticket items.......loose....with some manuals.....

I'll give that article writer the deal of a lifetime and sell them mine for half that price.
