Am I the only one who thinks this is upsetting?

Yes and no. This is the only FDS repro I've ever seen of a prototype/unreleased game.

That said, there's all types of other stuff out there, as it's still very much possible to write/rewrite disks.

For instance, some people will have fan translation repros made, where an authentic Japanese FDS disk image is overwritten with one that has a fan translation applied to it. There are some on eBay right now; games like Kalin no Tsurugi and Suishou no Dragon.

Additionally, there are eBay sellers I've found who will simply "make" any disk game for you, with an unofficial label of course. "Reproductions" in the most literal sense possible. Useful, I guess, if you need to have physical versions of some of those ultra-rare unlicensed titles (like those by Hacker International).

By the way, I found the perfect FDS for you!

Huh, I had no idea there was a Sega arcade system called the Titan that has Saturn-like hardware but used ROM cartridges for the games.

Yeah, the Sega STV-Titan was a pretty popular arcade board. A number of Saturn games started out as STV arcade titles that were intended to be ported home, much like the Naomi/Dreamcast situation.

Take a gander at that ridiculously long list of arcade titles that graced the board:

Oh, snap, 45% off Radiant Silvergun. I'm not even really sure what that cartridge tends to go for these days, though. I've had a US ST-V mobo for quite a few years now, and there was a point at which I thought I might grab Radiant Silvergun for it, but I have RS for the Saturn, and very seldom even set up the ST-V to play what I have for it (Soukyuugurentai, Die Hard Arcade, Steep Slope Sliders, VF Remix, VF Kids, etc).

There were a lot of early puri-cula stalls running on ST-Vs, though. I'd imagine Sega did pretty well with those, even though the software library for the platform is a little limited. I should probably get Final Fight Revenge for the ST-V at some point; It's not really that much more expensive than the Saturn version now.

That's neat. I knew the Titan existed but I've never actually seen the carts.
