Only pre-orders of “select video games” will come with the $10 store credit promotion, according to Amazon’s terms and conditions for the offer. Once a customer has pre-ordered a qualifying item, they must wait up to 35 days to receive their $10 via email. That credit will only be valid for 60 days after activation.

I think we all knew this was coming. Guess I will be buying even more games used. I'm not entirely sure that I will be renewing my Prime subscription between this and the recent price increase.

If you plan on preordering anything from Amazon, best do it in the next few days.

Twitch Prime is getting downgraded too. Yippee!

As we have continued to add value to Twitch Prime, we have also re-evaluated some of the existing Twitch Prime benefits. As a result, universal ad-free viewing will no longer be part of Twitch Prime for new members, starting on September 14.

Twitch Prime members with monthly subscriptions will continue to get ad-free viewing until October 15. If you already have an annual subscription, or if you upgrade to an annual subscription before September 14, you will continue with ad-free viewing until your next renewal date.

^ That stinks. I think they are going to see a sharp decline in Prime subscriptions this year.

Personally I am only going to miss like two Amazon shows: Man in the High Castle and The Tick. As for games, I already had Torna the Golden Country, Let's Go Eevee, and Kingdom Hearts III preordered. Today I added way more to that list than I should have - RE2 Remake, FFVII Remake, and Smash Bros Ultimate. I may end up cancelling some of those before they ship.

I'm considering canceling it that's for damn certain after the price increase plus that. Their movie library is trash, the music while good was great until they held back more for the prime +plus pay more setup which means Pandora outdoes them now. I just have to wonder if I'd really save that much in shipping because if I don't see any notable continuing of $10 waivers for Switch games through the year it has little value to me anymore. They still do free shipping on orders over $35 anyway.

So like any brand new game...hmm.

Yeah I don't want to get complacent about annually renewing Prime now. I wonder how good the shipping speeds are thesedays without Prime? It's not like I ever seriously need something here in 2-3 days. So I'm definitely considering dropping Prime too. The movie selection is terrible like you said.

So you're one of those types that still goes to stores.

Desk fan
Microfiber face cloths
Footrest ottoman
Umbrella
Bug spray

Some of my random recent non-videogame orders... so nah, I avoid stores at all costs!

I buy in stores mostly too, just depends on the ease of finding something locally or not, or the price is too good to not buy it online.

I don't think I can get rid of Amazon, wife says she watches something on their terrible prime service. I'll work on it though.

I like Amazon Music but I realized that T-Mobile like with mlb.tv gives out yearly a 1yr sub to Pandora for free and it comes up next Tuesday so I don't need their diminished music setup now that they cut a lot of music to charge a premium on that too on top of prime.

So I'm at no good use for dead preorders, no good movies, music is replaced, and I don't need an item same/next day for reduced or free shipping. Where's the value?

The value is in canceling so instead you could get a crabcake sub every month! Or 24pack of mtn dew or 8 pack of full throttle. I can see the values after I cancelled my Prime subscription which I mainly used for preorder discounts
