Has anyone ever traded in gift cards online?

by noiseredux Mon May 11, 2015 2:12 pm

Hey, so I've seen lots of different services that will take unwanted gift cards off your hands and turn them into a Visa gift card or Amazon credit or whatever. I've got various giftcards for various spots that I'm not all that sure what to do with right now. I'm curious if anyone has had experience with any of these? It's kind of hard to tell which ones are trustworthy since there's so many. Plus it seems some have minimums (I have three $10 Ninty eShop cards for instance and Coinstar only accepts cards w/ a minimum of $20). Also it looks like some sites only let you list your cards for sale, almost like a marketplace. I think I'd rather just trade in a bunch and get credit of some sort.

That's interesting. I've never heard of that. I think I'd just go the easier route of just trading them in...

Let us know how it works out.

Some of the pawn shops in Charlotte "but" gift cards. From what I overheard, they give about 40% of the card's value in cash. I do not know about online purchasers, but if you are getting rid of some eShop cards, send me a PM. I am fairly certain I can turn them into PayPal funds...

Dude, just put your three $10 Nintendo eShop cards up for sale here for $30. Some one will snatch those right up. In fact, I would have already PM'ed you to take them off your hands, but my video game budget is $0 this month.

Probably too late to help you out, but I tend to trade my cards at card pool.

They, like all these sites, take a cut. So be prepared to get downward of a near 60% of face value with some trades. They tend to prefer you mail in your card, but I always just submit my code Online for quicker service. This cuts into my return, though.

They also drteime how much you get based on how desired that card will be. An amazon gift card will be much more valuable than a Jamba juice one.

Really, just play with all the options and find what you like. It's free money If you work it smart.
