I'm so sad that FF6, the one I actually want to play, won't work on iPad 1.

Is it sad that tactics is the only one I can see myself playing on a iOS device?(sure you can get controllers and map them but it's not the same  )

You're totally right but, so much still works on it. It still checks my email and browses silly internet forums, plays Netflix and Hulu Plus, and plays a lot of games, including newer ones.

Once Netflix stops working and web pages aren't compatible then I'll probably upgrade.

Alright it's been almost a year - time to bump this thread and get it active again. We got an iPad recently and I have an iPhone 6 that I'm going to start using more for gaming this year out of convenience (and during the day).

Prfsnl_gmr, my brother - are you with me?

I am with you, my brother.

Here's what I have for my iPad right now:

Alone in the Dark
Altos' Adventure
Bastion
Broken Age
A Dark Room
The Ensign
Gabriel Knight Sins of the Father
Grim Fandango
Groove Coaster
Hitman Go
Hitman Sniper
Knightmare Tower
Lara Croft Go
The Last Express
Leo's Fortune
Lost Treasures of Infocom
Nyxquest HD
Robot Unicorn Attack
The Room
Silent Age
Space Invaders Infinity Gene
Star Wars KOTOR
Surgeon Simulator
Transistor
Ultima IV
World of Goo

Some of these are free to start, and with the exception of KOTOR, none of them are very expensive. (BTW, I am totally getting my adventure game fix this year. I can't wait!)

Good spread dude. I forgot about a couple of those and while my ipad2 is long dead I did get a 5s last year so I did recover some fine goodies I once owned.

My phone has --
A Dark Room
Arkanoid
Blazing Star
Dragon Fantasy
DOOM
Final Fantasy 1
(1942) First Strike
Flight Control
Gunman Clive
Hypership Out of COntrol
Infinity Blade (have 2 just not on it)
Mega Man II
Metal Slug
Metal Slug 3
Monument Valley (was free for a day a few weeks back)
Mr Driller
North vs South
Out There Omega Ed
Powerpros Baseball
Questlord
Shantae (meh)
Sky Force(great shooter, hard too)
Solitaire (free one)
Terraria
Time Crisis
VectorRacing
Vega Conflict (also on pc, facebook, and android)
Woah Dave
Wolfenstein 3D
Zookeeper

And then there's Pinball Arcade and ZaccariaME (it's free, many good real pinball tables from an Italian maker in the 70s-80s but has many more to unlock.)

I know I had more on the iPad, but some stuff wasn't universal and is a goner. I never paid more than a few dollars on most of it, the most probably was $7 for 1/2 off on FF1 and discounted table packs at 1/2 off for Pinball Arcade as I know I have season1 and 2 on it. Quite a few of them were freebies of the day or .99 cent deals I found through www.iosnoops.com. I do the same shenanigans with Android now using the app called App Sales (or their website) which does the same with freebies and cheap cuts and with google surveys I get a lot for free stacking credit.
