The ongoing "AWESOME DEAL ON THE WEB!" thread

by Stark Fri Jul 15, 2011 1:45 am

This is just like JT's other threads for Steam, GOG, or D2D, but for game deals that are just on the web and not on those three.

First off (sorry for the late notice I just found this) is Puzzle Moppet. Which is free for the next 6 hours! Seems like a really fun puzzler so far.

Nice. Is this thread just meant for digital releases, or is it for physical copies too? Is it for PC only, or consoles as well?

I was thinking digital PC releases that aren't on the major ones like Impulse, D2D, Steam, and GOG. What are your thoughts? One of the things I like about your other posts is how focused they are, seems like there is potential for this to get out of control otherwise.

I think it should just be any awesome deal you find on the web. So if I don't know, jjgames is doing B2G1 or something, post it here. Or Target.com is selling Duke Nukem for $1.50 post it here. Or not.

I'm okay with this, so this one just web deals. Maybe later we can start one for the brick & mortar stores.

Yeah, I think this is a good idea for all of the random things that are not part of routine sales like the ones on Steam, GOG, etc. Like whenever there is a game related gold box deal on Amazon, or some indie developer has a sale, or whatever.

Frima Studios announced that its popular PSN title A Space Shooter for Two Bucks is now available in the app store for iOS users. Free to download, the game has been renamed A Space Shooter for Free. Players will lead salty Commander Jefferson through hordes of enemies to keep the galaxy safe from the alien threat in this fun, fast-paced shoot em’ up. Pilot the USS Eradicator to victory, collect loot, upgrade your ship and blow up even more alien scum!

I'm really starting to like Games Press.

Big 5 Games (formerly Zombie Cow) are temporarily giving away their early game for free. It's called Gibbage and you can download it here:

These are the guys that made Ben There, Dan That; Time Gentlemen Please!, and Privates. I haven't played this yet, but it should be funny if it's anything like their other titles.
