I wish I was into city builders, that one looks amazing.

Dude! I was never into city builders. This game, though... it is just so special. There's an amazing zen that comes from play Skylines. Sometimes I'll just think about the ambient sound of the city that you hear when you zoom in, and just the THOUGHT of it relaxes me.

I'm actually planning to get back into it in the somewhat near future, as a lot of cool DLC has come out for it that wasn't there when I first played it... snow, nightlife, natural disasters...

Do you get to destroy your cities and murder you citizens with horrible catastrophes?

Yeah put the waste treatment plant above your water intake and watch the fun ensue. Either that or put a water tower even remotely close to a landfill. Built a new neighborhood once and watched as the plague slowly took it out thanks to a water tower which wasn't in the pollution zone according to the map but must have been just close enough to a power plant to cause bacteria to get in the water.

Really I don't think there are any natural disasters to speak of and definitely not anything crazy like aliens or monsters. If people are dying it's usually because of a mistake on your part about the only random things are fires and crime.

Fragem, the natural disasters were part of a later DLC.

There's also a great shmup sale going on at Steam right now (most of the games are shmups, anyway): http://store.steampowered.com/sale/shmup/

I picked up:

Crimsonland
Platypus
Steam and Metal
Raiden III Digital Edition
Glorkian Warrior: The Trials Of Glork
Super Galaxy Squadron EX
Sky Force Anniversary
Major Stryker
Pixel Galaxy
Void Invaders
Space Moth DX
Bit Blaster XL

for about $22

I already have and would recommend a lot of the other titles, too: a couple of Cave games are there, Crimzon Clover is there, the Mommy's Best Games titles are there, Gundemonium Collection, Kamui, etc. It's a pretty great list of titles.

thx for the heads up Dave. I have a lot of the Steam shmups, but a good sale is a good time to add more to my standing desk setup.

Dave posted this in the WEB thread also, but this one is at least worth the $1 - arguably even if you have these all through GOG.
