Well, the title screen appears to be beta... so... dunno. :)

Grats if you've got a Beta, though!

DMG MBC3 seems to be a "Memory Bank Controller 3" for GBC, which seems to be a flash cart. So I think you just have a flash cart that someone loaded a Pokemon ROM onto.

Oh, wait... It doesn't say Pocket Monsters, it says Pokemon...

Yeah, not a prototype, beta, or anything like that.

Not so sure about a flashcart this has nintendo 2000 written on the circuit board i have been reading around on the internet that NO pokemon gold prototype or beta has been found and that on wikipedia it says the release date for pokemon gold was Release date(s)
JP November 21, 1999[1]
AUS September 4, 2000
NA October 14, 2000[1]
EU April 6, 2001[1]

now just saying look at the dates the cart has the year 2000 on it so wipe out the european release ... the Aus release and NA release are late in that year now what if this cartridge appeared before the AUS and NA release what would that make it ????

It could be a prototype for one of the localizations. The fact that the board actually has Nintendo stamped on it gives it more credibility than just a flash cart, but it is hard to tell.
