Loom is a favorite of mine from high school.

I own Fallout, but have only played about 15 mins of it. I do plan to get to it, though.

System Shock and Thief I'm curious about, but aren't high on the list right now.

I don't know what Cobra Mission is.

Yes, and that's why I like to mix up my platforms often. Exploring genres is one thing, exploring them on various platforms is another. For example... I just beat some PC98 games, then a SFC one, now I'm playing PS2, and I plan to hit up Virtual Boy and PC88 after that. Every platform has its own "feel" for a lack of a better term, and I like to experience the variety of feels. Just speaking personally here, not criticizing anyone's life choices or anything.

For me, I tend not to mix too much. I'll focus in on something and stick with it for a long period of time. Feast or famine is how some of my friends describe it. For me, I've been heavy into PC games for the last couple of years, though before that it was heavy into SNES, N64, PS2, so on and so forth at different times. Now I'm still going to my SNES stuff, but mostly it's PC right now. Which is great because, even though I've played a lot of PC games over the years, there are still plenty of classics I haven't gotten to try until relatively recently myself too.

Nice. I need to play a couple of these myself. But I look forward to seeing him grapple with Civilization 2, Descent, Total Annihilation, and Daikatana.

yeah the Civ games are def ones I need to look into at some point. I do own V actually.

Descent I played back in the day. I don't think I was very good at it.

Not sure what Total Annihilation is.

I am interested in Daikatana based on its reputation.

Yeah, I used to be like that as well. But doing so causes me to burn out faster. Mixing platforms up tends to maintain my interest in the medium with less over exposure fatigue.

Also about PC, I spend my entire day at work sitting in front of computers. When I get home, I'm kinda loathe to sit down in front of a PC again for hours playing a game. I'd rather hold a handheld, or sit in front of a TV with a console and controller, because at least I'm not sitting in front of a PC again as I already did for 8 hours earlier. Granted, you can hook a PC up to an HDTV and use a USB gamepad, but deep downside I'd know I'm still in front of a PC. Perhaps I've associated PCs with working for so long that I have some residual apprehension.

That was kind of a joke post. But, Cobra Mission is historically significant. It was the very first officially licensed, English localized, and domestically published hentai game:

It's actually a half decent game, despite its more obvious selling angle.

Ah, see, I never had that issue with burn out. Games were always there for me, and if anything, I now still have the desire to play and beat lots of games, but I lack the time, and a lot of what I've been trying to get into have been longer titles. Like I've only beaten 10 games so far this year... Sure, I'd love to have that number higher. A couple of years ago, I beat over 100, and last year was 50+. But this year, I have much less time, and I want to take on some of the big names that range from 10-100 hours. The price I pay for focusing heavily on RPGs, I suppose.

haha, that's actually pretty interesting though.

If the player made too many mistakes, then the girl would get upset and leave.

Just like real life!

For me it is a five part answer:
1. Emulation is at the level where it is surpassing the original in many ways - HLE audio and upscaling in Dolphin for example.
2. Controller adapters for all original controllers - Blissbox 4 play for example
3. Easy to navigate frontends - Hyperspin and Launchbox
4. Space for storage
5. Ease of playing a rom over a console

I use to be a hardcore original hardware player, but I have been migrating slowly to fully emulation. I did some tests recently playing random games on original hardware, on emulator on CRT and an emulator with CRT Royale on a LCD. On most games there was no difference, some obviously had issues (Shadows of the Empire N64). But the weaknesses are far outweighed by the strengths.

I wont ever get rid of the games and consoles that are important to me, but some of the peripheral things can go. I do have some items that I wont play again, but would feel bad to get rid of, like the boxed PC Engine I got from Breetai and the modded original Playstation Snow Kitty sold me. That said, I am still stupidly slow at selling things since I hate the post office.

Speaking of, I've so far only listed maybe 1/3rd of the stuff I'm planning to sell.

And you've only shipped 0/3rd of the stuff you've sold me. :P
