What's your favorite video game box art?

by Retrogamer0001 Thu Mar 27, 2014 12:46 am

What are your favorites? Although not the best game in the world, the box art for Dynowarz is full of badassery!

Seriously, a robot shooting a metal T-rex through the head - it doesn't get any more awesome than that!

Only thing better than the box art is the game.

I'm a fan of the older games where the artist had some leeway with interpreting the material because the graphics were so bad . Today's games are mostly just screen shots. These aren't necessarily very good games, just some of my favorite covers

Might be lame, but just two that I've spent a lot of time as a kid looking at...

Look at all the stuff going on in DKC2. Enguarde and Lockjaw. Squawks and Screetch (no, not that Screetch, this Screetch).

I've never gotten into the games much, but I love the old Realms of Arkania series box arts:

I've always loved the painted MGS covers more than just about anything.

FFVI had some great boxart too... in Japan, anyway.

And then Sam & Max Hit The Road is enjoyable for Purcell's art style and how much is going on in one picture.

Fire Emblem Awakening has a pretty cool box art. Also any sort of MGS game with Shinkawa's art as boxart is always badass.
