Hey mrs writer woman, sorry to burst your bubble but here is America's future:
http://www.businessinsider.com/youth-unemployment-oecd-2011-9?op=1 (btw it's 51% now in Greece, this is a bit old)
The American empire is in decline, the American dream is dead cause easy to get jobs are a thing of the past. If your job can be described as a routine, you will be replaced by a machine, and if not you will still probably be replaced by a sweat shop in China or India.
Till the standard of living in those countries rises to a degree where they become major consumers, we are kind of fucked. Only investment in newer and newer technology can save our ass, but that will still not provide jobs for zero to medium skilled people (no point in ipads selling like crazy all over the world if none of them getting made in the US).
The only solution would be either Brazil's example (huuuge protectionism) or Germany's (open market in your country's strongest sectors to help exports, but protectionism in your country's weak sectors to fuel domestic consumption and thus keep unemployment low even if it's against free market rules).
I am sorry, I refuse to believe that someone would willingly live with his parents. Perhaps the biggest problem is that the world of today can't provide young people the quality of life it provided to their father's. As for the girls, well since for so long they used to be stepped on by men, they feel inclined to grab their chance and finally do the best they can do, cause finally society allows it. Good for them
.
As for this writer, please lady go read twilight.
