How so? I'm curious as I only possess the Fami cart.

Here’s my comparison from a few years ago that sums it up:

prfsnl_gmr wrote:Kid Dracula (Famicom) is a pretty good, relatively easy action platformer that plays a lot like Mega Man with floaty jumping. You play as Dracula’s son Alucard, and you gain a new ability after each level. The first level is a fun “chibi” version of Dracula’s castle - complete with upbeat Castlevania music! - but the following levels are unrelated to the Castlevania series. (There’s an ice level, a flying pirate ship, a spaceship, etc.) Between levels you play mini games for extra lives. The difficulty spikes on the last level, but it’s always manageable. Also, it has fantastic graphics.

Kid Dracula (GB) is a sequel - Lord Garamoth wants revenge! - that’s also kind of a remake - you go back to GB versions of almost all the levels from the previous game! The game still looks great, and both the gameplay and level-design are tightened up a bit. The mini games are more fun, and it has a really great personality. It also has a password system, too; so, unlike its predecessor, you don’t have to beat it in one sitting.

If you like Famicom version, you’re guaranteed to like the GB version. Both the NTSC and JPN versions will put a dent in your wallet, though, and I’m not sure the game is worth its asking price.

…..

Just got back from Colorado, and, of course, I picked up a few video games during my travels. I got:

Aladdin (GBA)
Mickey Mouse: Magic Wands (GB)
Radical Psycho Machine Racing (SNES)

At only $20, Aladdin was the best deal, but I’m happy to add all three games to my collection.

EDIT: Bonus games! When I got back home, I had a shipment waiting for me! I got:

Shikinjyo (Famicom)
Irem Arcade Classics (PS1)
Robbit Mon Dieu (PS1)
Airaguma Rascal (SFC)
Donald Duck & The Magic Hat (SFC)
La Wares (SFC)

I’m really pumped for Robbit Mon Dieu. I love both Jumping Flash games, and I only recently realized there was a third game in the series released exclusively in Japan.

Intriguing pick. Are you going for some bizarre sub-collection now like "all Famicom puzzle games"??

I don’t know…This game was on my import “want” list, and when it came up for a good price, I went for it. I don’t remember why I added it to my “want” list, but I’m sure I must have had my reasons. Having spent a few minutes with the game, though, I’m struggling a bit to understand what those might have been…
