Games Acquired 2020
Re: Games Acquired 2020
Picked up 3 rare wii games this week for a decent price, dragons lair trilogy, no more heroes 2, and gunblade/:A machine gun arcade pack.
I probably didnt need dragons lair trilogy since I own it digitally on switch and on steam, but it is one of my all time favorite games and just really wanted a physical copy

Sweet. What’s the Togo Famicom game?
Re: Games Acquired 2020
pook - gunblade is a pretty fun light gun pack. Probably not as good as the house of the dead 2&3 pack but they're solid games to add to a Wii light gun collection.
bone - why is that one famicom cart larger than the others? Does the game have extra sound chips in it or something?

Re: Games Acquired 2020
Yeah, big Famicom games will typically have an extra sound chip or whatever.
And the game with the text-only label is Fushigi no Umi Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water.

Re: Games Acquired 2020
Lagrange Point is the larger one. Has a KONAMI VRC7 chip in it. Not only does it add 6 FM synth channels, it also does a lot of other stuff like other advanced mappers.

Re: Games Acquired 2020
2020 pick-ups:
1. Gunstar Heroes (GEN)
2. Lightening Force (GEN)
3. Comix Zone (GEN)
4. The Ninja Warriors (SNES)
5. Golden Axe (GEN)
6. Beyond Oasis (GEN)
7. Rocket Knight Adventures (GEN)
8. ActRaiser (SNES)
9. Castlevania IV (SNES)
10. Wonder Boy in Monster World (GEN)
11. Secret of Mana (SNES)
12. Skies of Arcadia (DC)
13. Gradius III (SNES)
May game pick-ups ...
14. Castlevania - Symphony of the Night (PS1): Earlier this year I made it one of my goals to find a good condition copy of this game and I finally came across one on a mom and pop game store's website. Back when the PS1 was new, I actually never encountered this game, but I'm a big fan of the system and the Castlevania series has been growing on me the past few years. After finishing Castlevania IV on the SNES a few months ago, I'm aiming to play this one next in the series.
15. Shadowrun (GEN): This has been on my to get list for a long time, but I never seemed to come across it at any local stores the past few years, so I finally picked it up online. When I was young, my neighbor who also had a Genesis was really into this game, and we would play it every so often. I'm a fan of the cyberpunk aesthetic as well as action RPGs, so I'm looking forward to learning the game and trying to finish it. The cover art is also awesome IMO.
16. Zero Tolerance (GEN): This is another game I never played or even came across around the time of release. I heard about it a few years ago, and finally gave it a chance via emulation and had more fun with it than was anticipating. It's pretty impressive to see a game like this running on the Genesis, even if the field of view is pretty small. Also, it's pretty expansive for a FPS on a console at the time, with about 40 levels. One day I'd like to setup the co-op system link situation, seems like that would be a lot of fun. This is another game I'm looking forward to putting time into.
There were a few other games I wanted to pick-up this month, but one of my online orders (luckily not video game related) from early May ended up being lost in the mail. Because of this issue, I didn't want to spend any more money on online orders until it got sorted out. The eBay seller finally gave me a refund today, but I'm not sure how much online purchasing I'll be doing in the coming weeks, as I'm a little hesitant after this incident.
