Wedding gift

Post by Ack »

I mentioned that I received a wedding gift from a friend recently in this month's Together Retro thread because there was a sports game I checked out for it. However, I name dropped one of the nicer parts of the gift, and pierrot demanded more than a taste. So...a little background:

Yes, my wedding is coming up in September.

Yes, I received a gift from a friend: about 45 SNES games, a sealed Mega Man X 30th anniversary cartridge, and a SNES Classic.

Yes, several of those 45 SNES games are expensive. What were they? Take a gander:

Hagane
Pocky & Rocky 2
Final Fight Guy
Final Fight 3

My friend also sent me several games that I was interested in but had never managed to procure, such as Uncharted Waters, Equinox, and Blackthorne. Oh, and a bunch of sports games, of course, though surprisingly despite owning around half of the NTSC-U SNES library, I only ended up with 5 duplicates. Probably in part because I had mostly not been collecting sports games.

Awesome gift.

Also...congrats on the wedding! That’s even better news.

Congrats on your wedding!!

All I got for my wedding was shitty kitchen supplies and other useful house gifts, I would have greatly preferred some video games.

Thanks, guys. It's been a long time coming.

And yeah, I expect the rest will be stuff like steak knives and spatulas, which is fine by me.

Fastbilly1 is actually the best man, so the bachelor party will probably involve bad movies and multiplayer games. We're not really the stripper type...unless that stripper came over to play video games. I have admittedly been at a party where a hired stripper mainly just hang out to play games.

Hot dang, Ack! You got yourself an honest to goodness Pocky and Rocky 2, and a bride to be? Seems like you might have pretty good luck with this marriage thing. Maybe you should try it a couple more times to see what else you get.

Hard to say which of those two things is better. I think I know what I’d choose, but huzzahs are in order, all around.

Thanks for adding “play video games with a stripper” to my bucket list, by the way.

Super rad gift! And many congratulations on your marriage!

And yeah, now I'm thinking about what it would be like to hire a stripper to help get a full game of Saturn Bomberman going...

Yeah, who wants nine friends when you could hire strippers instead.

I will be your stripper. Please pay me to come play video games with you.

Also, congrats on getting married. Is she down for co-op play with you?

Nah, she rarely plays video games. She's far more interested in destroying me in Uno. She is more of an expert on television shows

Also, it was a midget stripper, if that adds anything. He was a cool guy.
