I haven't had time to go to the retro stores for a while, so it's mostly new pickups this go-around. I've also been trying to pick up any Vita games I'm interested in now, while the prices are still in the reasonable range.

Except for Muv-Luv. I wasn't anticipating getting Muv-Luv. That is Bone's fault.

Favorite Squaresoft Game on the PSX?! Those are not light words...

A friend of mine played it for a little bit and it got me interested in the game. I watched a review and it got me even more interested in the game. I'm running low on Square PS1 games, so I figured that would be a good to tackle next.

I added Xenosaga Episode III: Also sprach Zarathustra for the Sony Playstation 2 this evening!

So, the reason I walked into the store was to buy Threads of Fate. That game was on my list for a while and I went into the store for the sole purpose to pick up that game. But, since I was there, I decided to walk around...

And that is when I saw a nice selection of PS1 and PS2 games. I was looking them over when Xenosaga III caught my eye. A few years ago, I had beaten the first game and then I picked up the second one a little while after beating it. I had always known that Xenosaga III was the rarest one, so I was surprised to see it sitting there.

It was almost brand new and I realized that I couldn't pass it up. It wasn't exactly cheap, but I knew I would only regret it later and probably pay even more later on. So, I decided to complete my Xenosaga trilogy.

I was in Albany for a short period of time this weekend, and had a chance to check out Pastime Legends games. Nice selection of retro stuff there. Saw Ms. Pac-Man CIB for cheap, which I wanted for the co-op play, they also had Shinobi III CIB in mint condition for the Genesis, and Super Mario All-stars for a good price. Awesome store, will definitely stop by again when I'm in the area.

Back in NYC, I stopped in to another local mom and pop shop this evening. I was hoping to get Captain America and the Avengers, which I had seen there about two weeks ago, but the game had sold already. However, saw a few other CIB Genesis games I've wanted for a while for reasonable prices, so pulled the trigger. My GF and I had played a bit of RE6 from a copy we borrowed, so I decided to pick it up on the cheap. Another couch co-op to get into this winter.

After deciding on Xenosaga III and Threads of Fate, the flood gates had begun to spring a leak. I was now in the mood to pick up more games and those PS2 RPG's were calling my name. I then saw a near Mint Star Ocean for the PS2.

Every time I found the game, it was only the case and not both discs as well. I finally found a copy that was in the cardboard box and had both discs in it as well. It's a game I've seen fairly regularly, so I wasn't too excited to pick it up, but since I was buying two other games, I figured another one wouldn't hurt especially in a condition so nice.

I added Star Ocean for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System this evening!

So, I went home after buying those three games from the game store. I always like to check the games that I buy online for any information or history behind them.

While looking up Star Ocean on the PS2, I suddenly remembered the SNES version that I really wanted to play first. I LOVE playing through game series' chronologically, so I felt bad buying the PS2 version first when I still hadn't played through the SNES version.

Not wanting to return it the next day and realizing that I had some time until I was going to play either copy, I decided to remedy the situation the next day. I went online and bought a Game Reproduction of the SNES version. A week or so later, it showed in immaculate shape and I now own the Star Ocean trilogy.
