My main resolution this year was to play more games than I have never played before. Out of the 183 games I beat so far this year, 47 of them were replays. The breakdown is heavily skewed towards replaying nes/snes games and most of the games I played on other systems were new games.
With only a (very busy) month left I don't see me beating too many more games, I am very near the end of control and will finish that very soon and I have one more level in an indie game called tayal, outside of that I'm not sure if I will finish anything else this year.
I also had a laughably long list of games to serve as a guide for games that I never played but I barely touched it.

Re: 2019 Gaming Goals and Resolutions
Wrapping these up for the year:
This went OK - I cleared out quite a few of the games, including all 51 games on the sega collection. Home console games were quite neglected though!
I did start 2 other games - Mole Mania and Lost in Shadow, but I just kinda stopped playing the latter, and lost my save on Mole Mania unfortunately!
I didn't do this at all. Whoops!
I also didn't really do this. I was way too ambitious with my game beating targets this year!
I didn't really consciously do this, but I was actually quite good about mostly picking up only games I really wanted this year. Better than usual at least.
I'll find out exactly how I did here once I tally up the counts in games beaten and games acquired, but I think I about broke even overall.
Another year down, and still I have composite on the PC Engine.
I never really did this. I bought a house, moved in and got married this year - a lot of my focus outside of gaming has been on setting up the house, not this. I would still like to give it a go sometime though.
Time to start thinking of some for next year that are maybe a little less ambitious.
Beating games:
1. Beat every game I received as gifts in 2018.
As of right now, that list is as follows:
1. Starlink: Battle for Atlas (Switch)
2. Fire Emblem Warriors (Switch)
3. Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana (Switch)
4. Pokémon Let's Go Eevee (Switch)
5. The Longest 5 Minutes (Switch)
6. Kirby Star Allies (Switch)
7. Musynx (Switch)
8. Mega Man 11 (Switch)
9. WarioWare Gold (3DS)
10. 428 Shibuya Scramble (PS4)
11. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (PS4)
12. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (PS4)
13. Final Fantasy XV (PS4)
14. Yakuza 0 (PS4)
15. Klonoa (Wii)
16. A Shadow's Tale (Wii)
17. Pandora's Tower (Wii)
18. Gremlins 2 (NES)
19. Mole Mania (GB)
20. Bomberman Quest (GBC)
21. Looney Tunes Collector: Martian Alert! (GBC)
22. Looney Tunes Collector: Martian Revenge! (GBC)
23. Sega Mega Drive Classics (Switch) - 51/51

2. Beat every game I received as gifts in 2017 and haven't yet beaten.
As of now, this list is as follows:
1. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (Switch)
2. The Last Guardian (PS4)
3. Gravity Rush 2 (PS4)
I didn't do this at all. Whoops!
3. Replay some games I've purchased in physical format after originally playing digitally, if I haven't played them since buying them.
I also didn't really do this. I was way too ambitious with my game beating targets this year!
Buying games:
1. Focus gaming purchases on my big name wants list, rather than buying stuff just because it's cheap
I didn't really consciously do this, but I was actually quite good about mostly picking up only games I really wanted this year. Better than usual at least.
2. Buy less games than I beat in 2019.
I'll find out exactly how I did here once I tally up the counts in games beaten and games acquired, but I think I about broke even overall.
Mods & upgrades:
1. Get my PC Engine Duo R modded for RGB output
Another year down, and still I have composite on the PC Engine.
2. Learn some electronics & soldering so I can start attempting my own mods.
I never really did this. I bought a house, moved in and got married this year - a lot of my focus outside of gaming has been on setting up the house, not this. I would still like to give it a go sometime though.

Main Goal = End 2019 With A Positive Backlog Beat On 12-31-19
NES = Beat Contra Without Dying
GEN = Beat Phantasy Star III Beat On 06-16-19
SNS = Beat Soul Blazer Beat On 04-04-19
N64 = Beat Mario Party Beat On 04-07-19
SDC = Complete Metropolis Street Racer Beat On 03-06-19
PS1 = Beat Jet Moto Beat On 09-01-19
PS2 = Beat Radiata Stories Beat On 01-22-19
GCN = Beat Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance Beat On 05-11-19
XBX = Beat Half-Life 2 Beat On 03-24-19
I am a day early, but I'm going to call it.
My Backlog is now sitting at +1.
With all of the games that I added this year, I was a little afraid that I wouldn't be able to make it, but I crammed a few in at the end of the year to make certain I hit my positive note.
Not Beating Contra Without Dying was a little disheartening though. Maybe I was little too presumptuous about that. Next year, I'll try some more normal and simpler goals.

2) Get the rank of 6th Dan in singles mode Beatmania IIDX; 1st Dan in doubles mode
3) Clear a level 18 song in singles mode Dance Dance Revolution (I can currecntly clear 15s; this might be more than I can do); clear a level 15 in doubles mode
4) Play through Ultima V on my Apple II
5) Play Undertale at long last
6) Get myself a Japanese Megadrive!
1) NOPE, OPPOSITE
2) I got to 5th Dan but after a version update I actually regressed to 3rd Dan in single play and have 1st Kyu in doubles
3) HA! NOT EVEN CLOSED! I cleared some 16s in singles and a 14 in doubles
4) I started it... IT HALF-COUNTS
5) Yes! Success! Although I need to play it again for the real ending
6) Mission accomplished!
So I ALMOST met *half* my goals. It's something.
