I beat the “classic” mode in Resident Evil Deadly Silence. It is a straight port of the original game, but with quick turn (which I never used) and quick reload (which I used all the time). I played Jill’s scenario, and I really enjoyed it...especially the amazing dialogue and FMV. (Seriously...they are so classic. ). I wrote more about it in the golden age of survival horror together retro thread.
Sometimes, when you are playing a survival horror game, you need a break. Sometimes, that break involves popping bubbles with a harpoon gun. So many bubbles. So many, many bubbles. This is where Pang Adventures comes in. It is the latest game in the long running Pang (a/k/a Buster Bros.) series. Some stages play like puzzles; others are pure twitch gameplay. The boss battles are uniformly fantastic. It is also one of those games you can beat pretty easily, but getting the high score in each level can be a tremendous challenge. (Doing so often transforms the twitch stages into puzzles and the puzzle stages into test of your reflexes.) I also enjoyed this game, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a charming old-fashioned gaming experience.
