Most of the games this month were Birthday or Christmas presents, as both fall in the same month for me. Golf Story and Yooka-Laylee were bought months ago but finally arrived this month. Smash Bros. I bought at launch.

Definitely got more games this month than previous months ha. Most of the console games were gifts, and most of the Steam games were Steam sale purchases. Maybe I'll put together a summary post as well but I'm not sure yet.

I have waited until the final moment to post these, because you never know what you might get, and also because none of these new games are actually in my hands yet due to the slow Holiday shipping, and I generally don't like to include games in my collection unless they're actually in my hands.

But I did pay for them this year and for the purposes of this thread that would do.

Notes:
Since I decided not to get any more new games this year, I settled for a good balance between PS1, Dreamcast and PC.

I wish I could do a price breakdown on the games I bought this year, but is too much of a hassle to go through invoices (though I will keep it in mind for next year).

Just assume everything was bought online (last game I bought locally was Wonderful 101 in 2012) all retro games are CIB because that's the only way that was ever acceptable to me, and all retro games besides Super Mario 3D Land (Amazon still had sealed copies) was sourced from eBay, since locally, well let's just say that finding retro games of any kind in a reasonable price or good condition was always hard, now is getting to be nigh on impossible. Oh and I never received video games as gifts, ever.

Of course just glancing at those limited editions I can see I spend over a grand total on them...

I was a bit disappointed at how much I'd spent on games in 2018, but when I saw it in comparison to previous years, I'm actually quite chuffed with how well I've done. Certainly there's still some progress to be made, but I've spent almost half of last year's total.
