Re: Games Acquired 2017
I didn't participate in this thread this year, but I went back through some receipts to try and list the vast majority of everything I can remember picking up last year. I am increasingly moving to digital only as much as possible, so much of this list is comprised of digital copies of games. I won't bother listing PS+ freebies since those go away if/when the subscription ends. I will list the GWG titles, though, since you get to keep those.
Almost everything here was purchased digitally. Physical purchases are marked with a "*".
Total: About ~450 games
PS4 (37 games):
PSVR (26 games)
PS3 (1 game)
PS Vita (2 games)
PSP (4 games)
PS2 (13 games)
PS1 (3 games)
Xbox One (28 games)
Xbox 360 (26 games)
Nintendo Switch (7 games)
Wii U (4 games)
PC (283+ games)
iOS (5 games)

Re: Games Acquired 2017
I only summed up how much money I'd spent on the last page, but I got curious to see which were my preferred consoles for pruchases this year, and how that compared to last year. Turns out that although I spent a bit more this year (as stated, mostly on consoles and mods and my framemeister) I actually purchased an awful lot less. That's a good thing in my eyes - I wanted to focus on buying the pricier stuff that I really wanted instead of buying any cheap game I come across instead, and I mostly succeeded at that.
Number of games acquired by console (and the difference in number to 2016)
Switch: 15 (+15)
NES: 8 (=)
Wii: 8 (+6)
Game Boy: 8 (+2)
Nintendo 3DS: 6 (-20)
Playstation 4: 6 (-2)
SNES: 5 (-1)
Game Boy Advance: 4 (+2)
Master System: 4 (-2)
PS Vita: 4 (-11)
Nintendo 64: 3 (-2)
Playstation: 3 (+1)
Wonderswan: 3 (+3)
Mega Drive: 2 (-7)
Dreamcast: 2 (+1)
Xbox: 2 (=)
Wii U: 1 (-21)
Game Boy Color: 1 (-2)
Playstation 3: 1 (-22)
PSP: 1 (-6)
PC: 1 (=)
0 games purchased: Gamecube (-7), Nintendo DS (-2), Virtual Boy (-2), Pokemon Mini (=), Saturn (-4), Game Gear (=), Playstation 2 (=), Xbox 360 (=), PC Engine (-6), 3DO (-5), NGPC (-1)
Total: 88 games (-93)
The massive Wii U, Vita and PS3 drops were down to avoiding humble bundles and not going nuts on the system's respective sales.
PS2, Pokémon Mini, Game Gear and XBox 360 have had not new purchases for 2 years running. Maybe I need to spend more time with those systems, but the Pokémon Mini is hard to find games for, the Game Gear is hard to play and I just don't like the PS2 much. I kinda want to invest in the XBox 360 more though!
Either way, I bought less than half as many games this year as last, and I'm happy with that. More time to play the ones I have!
Console breakdown for this year is below:
