Spooky time games for spooky times.

Post by Exhuminator »

I've seen some members here getting pumped for horror movie marathons due to the impending Halloween season. That's cool, but what about games? Does anyone other than me plan to do some seasonal horror gaming?

Here's what I plan to play in October:

Anybody else plan to dedicate some October time to spooky gamin'? What're you gonna play?

Not sure if I'll have time (probably won't) since I'm in the last semester of my master's, studying for certification exams, and moving at the end of October, but it wouldn't be right unless I had some virtually impossible horror ambition:

(Unfortunately limited to PS3 and PC as the majority of the collection is in storage)

(perhaps not truly horror, but seems to have a good vibe going for it and looks interesting enough)

(one of the very few Resident Evil's I have yet to play)

(A fan made sequel to the Penumbra trilogy that I've been told is well worth playing)

I won't be sticking to a strict list or anything, and I'll probably discover games between now and October (and during the month), but here's stuff I had already brainstormed...

Aliens Versus Pinball - because Aliens.
Alone In The Dark - for TR.
Friday the 13th - assuming it does come out in Oct as planned.
Ghosts N Goblins - for TR.
Nightcry - because Clock Tower.
Resident Evil 0 HD - started earlier this year, but stopped playing.
Umbrella Chronicles - IDGAF... I wanna try it.

I've have two tagged right now:

Home - PS3/Vita
Resident Evil HD - PS4

I don't want to overextend but Luigi: Dark Moon on the 3DS is another that I briefly started/tried and would like to continue.

I'm trying to get into TurboGrafx for the first time, so there will probably be some Splatterhourse and definitely some Devil's Crush Pinball.

I've been so wrapped up in Zelda and Megaman games lately that I haven't been playing Luigis Mansion Dark Moon. So I'm gonna get back to that in October as well as pick up where I left off on Super Ghouls n Ghosts.

Also I'll be starting on Majoras Mask 3d in October. Does that count?

I am going to go way out of my comfort zone this year and play some spooky games. I have Resident Evil Remake on ps3 and will be attempting that. The real question is... Chris or Jill.

I am also going to go obscure and play some old late 90s games. The first is Nocturne. Not ti be confused with the Shin Megami Tensin game, this Resident Evil style game has awesome shadows and a weird story. It was planned to have a sequel that was canned and morphed into a game we all know and love, Bloodrayne! Also going to fire up a tie in game and its sequels, the Blair Witch games which came out shortly after and used the same engine. Let's see how they play!

I always plan to participate in these and kind of fail to.

I have the newest Alien game, the name of which is escaping me. I'll do that.
