Stronghold

In Stronghold, you control a ship in 2 phases. First is the missile barrage you must get through before then encountering a robot behind 3 layers of shields, when there is an opening in all 3 layers it will shoot back at you, amongst other flying distractions while you're trying to take it out.

This screen here is only of the first phase. I can't find any from the 2nd phase, so check out this short video with the gameplay.

There's gold in dem dar third party shovelware, son!

How about Socket for the Genesis because I have a soft spot for Vic Tokai's Genesis library. And because this box art needs to be laughed at.

It's a strange, unapologetic Sonic clone but I feel that under the hood it's a pretty unique and overlooked one.

Hyperdimension Neptunia. It's not unknown, but it's underrated and always will be until it's universally acknowledge as the greatest series of all time.

I'd like to recommend a solid little Vita exclusive roguelike called Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God. Normally I'm really NOT into that moe anime stuff, but this game had a charm that grew even on me. And if you do like that sort of stuff (gee, anyone around here we know...?), you'll definitely enjoy it.

And it's a pretty solid roguelike in its own right.
I review (mostly old) games at: The Annals of Retrodom.

Good recommendation. I own a copy of Sorcery Saga myself. I believe Bonesnapdeez and laurenhiya21 have beaten and reviewed this one too.

Yeah, I really enjoyed Sorcery Saga. Still can't get the music out of my head though haha
