Make sure you confirm your address. They're preparing to ship the game and are asking everyone to finalise and confirm their addresses. Those in some countries are already having their addresses locked in to pass on to local fulfillment partners in preparation for release.

I did not join the Shenmue Kickstarter, but it is always pleasant and satisfying to see something that was promised being delivered.

Depending on how the series goes, since I played 1+2 I might pick this one up. Currently I do not own any hardware that is able to run this game.

I have my address confirmed, the digital deluxe version pre-ordered, and my body has never been more ready.

There's something amazing about browsing random articles or watching Youtube videos and seeing embedded Shenmue 3 adverts.

Here's a 15 second advert doing the rounds, although it's actually a shortened version of a longer advert that's 30 seconds. There's some poor quality rips of the 30 second advert out there, but no one seems to have found or posted the actual source yet.

It's the stuff legends are made of. Can't believe it's almost here. I can't adequately describe how addicting the training, and combat feel to me. I might actually play the demo again today. Do some more turtle racing, or something. I crushed the other turtles on the one race I did before.

I'm happy to hear you're enjoying the combat. I know that's one change people are a bit divided over. I'm intrigued to try it, as I didn't get a chance to try the demo (gave my code away, as my computer is pretty old).

Did you get any second-hand thoughts from the person you passed the demo key along to? What are people elsewhere saying about the combat?

I thought it flowed really well, and felt like it would really fit with the more fluid nature of a lot of these Chinese martial arts that Ryo has been dabbling in since Shenmue II. I mentioned before that I'm definitely going to miss the old style, but this new system "feels" great to me, also. I was thinking, though, that I'm not sure it wasn't just the easy combat that Yu Suzuki was planning for this one. Wasn't there also going to be an advanced combat mode? Either way, I think it'll be good.

Oh my friggin' frigate, boyos. I can not even begin to describe the insane levels of excitement and emotion I am feeling after watching this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d98TKaE63DI (Maybe don't click if you want everything about the game to be a surprise.

I actually did play the demo again the other day, and had just realized that I could open up all kinds of drawers, and examine tons of objects in stores and stuff. It didn't amount to much in those instances, but dammit did it ever feel good!

Yeah man, the hype is real. I watched that new video on Friday and I was thinking "oh my god, more drawers to open!" (Yup, seriously) and the fishing looks so cool! Also, yup the fact there's a Virtua Fighter knock off Arcade in the game is amazing.

To answer your question on the combat, I can't remember if the person I passed the code onto commented on it or not (I decided to pick a name out of a hat from the list of people who requested a code on the Shenmue Dojo, rather than just pass it to a friend), but there were plenty of positive comments on the Shenmue Dojo. There's some people who fear it's a bit basic and rough though and also throw moves being removed has been a concern for a lot of people since that was revealed. The press have been mixed on it since being able to play it, although most that have had the chance to replay it more recently, and had played it at E3, agree it has been improved on polished up in the last few months.

I think some people are just going to miss the Virtua Fighter system, but a lot of people agree the training mechanics are much better than in the first two games.

I'm kind of surprised by the fishing, even though I've known it was going to be in the game. It kind of makes me wish for a way of using a Sega Bass Fishing controller with it, though. Everything about that video just floored me. They went so far above and beyond what I would have expected, it's crazy. I can't believe they hid a mascot character in every shop in Choubu. Apparently, from one of the other videos, there's over 100 stores, in Choubu, and 70 something of those are places where Ryo can buy things. Actually being able to populate shops with stuff from forklifting is nuts. I'm already flabbergasted.

I was really happy to hear, from the MAGIC event, that the targeting frame in the first-person view is going to have a toggle on release. That actually bothered me a little from the demo.

I'm a little worried about it potentially getting slammed by most of the media outlets online. That feels like the first hurtle for the game. I'm pretty confident that it's going to check all of my boxes, and then some, at this point, though. It would just be really nice if making a Shenmue IV is a no-brainer.
