Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night ("new Castlevania")

OMG OMG OMG

Edit, kickstarter link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ig ... -the-night

Koji Igarashi is best known for work on countless Castlevania games. He’s left Konami and is now ready to work on a new one. It’s not called Castlevania. It’s not for Konami. But it might just be what fans have been eagerly awaiting.

The game is Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. It’s still quite early, but this is a 2.5D action game for consoles. And it certainly appears to evoke the Castlevania games that Igarashi made and that made Igarashi famous.

Interesting that Inti Creates is involved. I wonder if he's had some convincing to do this from Inafune.

I had a good laugh at the Dracula Iga telling you he doesn't care which weapon you prefer.

I don't think the current mock-ups are quite representative of what the final product is going to look like since they said the game is going to be 2.5D.

I'm guessing 2D art on 3D backgrounds.

Or maybe they'll go SotN style and have it be all 2D except for a handful of 3D elements.

So happy to see these developers move on to do what they want to do and stick to their roots. Such a good time to be a gamer!

Mighty No 9 - (Mega Man)
Bloodstained - (Castlevania)
Yooka-Laylee - (Banjo-Kazooie)
Lost Odyssey (2008) (Final Fantasy)

These developers dont need big publishers anymore, much easier to promote yourself on the internet now and release on multi digital platforms and even physical releases with a kickstarter.
