Isn't Septerra Core a take on a JRPG? I totally thought it was.

Yeah, but it's still a bit of a point-and-clicker. Feels a little like a JRPG/WRPG amalgam, at least the short amount of time I played it. But you're right, it was a Western attempt at a JRPG on PC.

Yes. My poor neglected NGPC.

Not bad. Dark Arms is kinda borderline but I'll let it slide if only to see someone play a NGPC RPG.

Only one I have real "issue" with is DMC3. Not crazy about opening this challenge up to "modern classics." That game is barely 10 years old.

Oh no I'm starting to sound like the "other Dave."

DMC3 was the one I though no one would have a problem with.

DMC3 is my all time favorite game and should be required for summer challenge playing for anyone who hasn't done so

Quick question from an interested party who has never entered a Summer Games Challenge before: Is the focus on classic games we've never played at all, or ones we never beat? Just wanna make sure I follow the rules here if I sign up for premium membership.

Also, I have trepidation about this because when my lists go public, they will horrify people. Especially you SNES kids. I'd don't want to get beaten up after school or lose friends, you know what I'm saying? :P

Ack wrote:I also considered making a joke list yesterday but didn't go through with it. Here is the joke list of 10:
[spoiler]Bubsy
Michael Jordan: Chaos in the Windy City
Dragon's Lair (SNES)
Barbie Super Model
Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures
Bulls vs Blazers and the NBA Playoffs
Tetris 2
Ultima IX
Wizardry V
Samurai Legend Musashi

I bought MJ Chaos in the Windy City last summer with the intent on beating it... Now I'm tempted to put it on my list. DS is going to love my list with that and Darkwing Duck on it again.

Ok, so how does this look for a Summer challenge?

5 Main:

1. Ultima
2. 7th Guest
3. Loom
4. Mortal Kombat 2
5. Descent

5 Alternates (to be played if I give up on the first 5 or after their completion):

6. Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
7. Super Mario Bros. 2: The Lost Levels
8. System Shock 2
9. Castlevania: Dracula X
10. Final Fantasy V

I'd reorder your alternates to put FFV at the top followed by SS2, but otherwise looks solid.

I can do coop with you for Descent and SS2 if you want. We could probably bang both out in a couple days.
