What kind of a PC setup do you use? I don't mean hardware specifically. I mean, do you play on a laptop, or a desktop and monitor, or do you have your PC hooked up to the HDTV in the living room, or a projector? Just curious since you do so much of it, how you go about it.

Well, how does "PC" look once you split it three ways into "standard" PC gaming vs. GOG.com vs. Steam???

Why would I split it up? It's all PC.

I've got my PC hooked up to my giant flatscreen TV, and I sit on the couch with a mouse and keyboard. From time to time I break out the joystick and that will sit on my lap with the keyboard and mouse off to the side. The only things I don't have plugged into this TV are the NES and the Master System; those are hooked up to the CRT in my bedroom.

I had tried this for an hour or so back on the PC a couple of years ago but didn't get into it. Figured I'd give the new Vita port a spin...

The combat in this game is the key selling point and the design style is novel and nice, but I found both the story and the much-heralded storytelling to be a bit of a mess and more of a detraction than an enhancement. Still, the title looks great and feels very much at home on the Vita, and if you liked it before I think you'd probably like it here, too.

Have you played it before? I think the hype for the game > game itself by a pretty wide margin.

I have never played it before, and all I know about it is that it is supposed to be a pretty good ARPG. Accordingly - and unless I go hunting for more information - I doubt it will disappoint me. (We'll see!)

EDIT: I am currently putzing around with World of Goo HD and Space Invaders Infinity Gene. The former is fun, and the latter is ridiculously awesome (...so awesome, in fact, that I am totally going to spring for the in-app purchases).

I'm doing an accounting of the new games I acquired this year and over half are either GOG releases of old games or an existing game that's sat on Steam for a while but I never bothered picking up. It's mostly the former. I would be making much better progress on my Backloggery if GOG would stop getting awesome shit.

Definitely didn't care for it. Style and no substance.
