Beyond Two Souls did this.

so did Dragon's Lair.

and it was incredibly annoying.

Yeah in B2S it was hard to tell how they wanted you to react for instance it was hard to tell if they wanted you to dodge, counter, or attack in a combat scenario so it was easy to screw up by moving the wrong way. It could easily be fixed by adding more button combos or color based prompts though.

Dragon's Lair is irritating as hell but "gets a pass" for being old and kinda cool looking.

Beyond Two Souls is just a dump load of dump.

I beat Dragon's Lair for Summer Gaming... last year maybe? It was horrible. Just one of the most frustrating games I've ever played thru, and it became one of those "I have to beat it to say I've beaten it" but I never want to play it again.

It still looks stellar though. Great looking game. Def ahead of its time and I give it tons of props for what it did, and other games it inspired. Just totally not fun.

Which is why if you buy the HD version, there is a "play like a movie" option. Same with Space Ace.

Dragon's Lair 2 is much more enjoyable. It is completely insane from beginning to finish and improves on the first game as far as indicators, story, dialogue, and silliness.

When I first played Dragon's Lair 3D I wished I was playing the second installment. But if you are a fan of the series, 3D is worth checking out.

...but, for God's sake, whatever you do, skip Dragon's Lair on the NES and SNES.

As someone who owns the SNES Dragon's Lair...yes.

If they made those Shadowgate style with some cut-scenes, it could have been brilliant. Point, click, win.

But watch a entertaining review for DL on the NES!
